Hello guys and thanks helping. I'm building my KA24DE with a t28, 440cc injectors, n62 z32 maf, the piping with hks bov is blow thru.

now i need an ecu. what ecu would you guys recommend?
does megasquirt make s14 ka-t ecu's?
what about the nistune type 4's?
i'm not trying to spend 1200 for an AEM ems...

Thanks guys!! i appreciate it

I would say either Nistune or an RS-Enthalpy tune would be the best option.

JWT tunes S14 KA ECUs as well.. Something to consider.

To answer your question, DIYAutotune sells pre-built and DIY megasquirts for the S14.

I wouldn't go with that if I were you, its cheap for a reason. Its no bueno.
Go with either JWT, Enthalpy or Nistune.

Well you are comparing a mail order tune to a programmable ecu.
Of the mail order tunes Id pick Jim Wolf Technologies or RS-Enthalpy.

But for 30 bucks more than a mail order tune ECU you can have a fully programmable one.

Megasquirt has a DIYPNP ECU for s14. Head over to KA-T.org if you wanna get some real facts and real reviews from people who use both systems.

I also recommend the Haltech 500 or something like the AEM piggy back as other options also.

emance tuning, Ground Performance (jonathan) recommended me to him. He does rom tunes, which i think is sufficient for your mods.

I drove all the way to san diego where he did my street tune for my KA24de t3/t4 setup. He is very careful. but im sure he can do a mail-in rom tune for u too

Megasquirt is AMAZING. I dont have it, but the guys at KA-T swear by it.

Read up on it and you'll fall in love.

When I had my s14 I had Megasquirt. At the time it wasnt a plug and play ecu but once I got it running the tuner software has a very friendly User interface and is easy to tune.

I've talked to enthalpy , and he might be able to fly out to Los Angeles an tune a couple of cars here, I need to find a location to rent a dyno, but it's all tentative at the moment.

Nistune's Type 4 board is really awesome, OR!!! I know you weren't really interested but Series 1 EMSs can be had for under 900 now (sometimes even with a UEGO windeband!), or AEM FI/C I've heard works really well too.

I realize this is a little late, but it's the first time I've seen it. Here's a list and map of Nismotronic tuners/dealers. There's one in Fontana and another in San Diego.
