can you guys give me some ideas?

The winters are taking their toll on my car- it will never see another one but its getting kinda soft in some areas underneath.

The car is in too good of shape to let go, and ive spent lots of time and $$$ fixing it up, but the frame-rail things are badly rusted in some areas. I know you can professionally replace the whole thing but thats big $$$.... i have a friend who is a mechanic and who can weld.

what do you think? Cause if i have to sell it......well I dont wanna do that.

do you think its worth getting rid of the car when all it needs is a few little patches? Its in fantastic shape for 11 years old.

Those frame rails...and this is going to sound silly...but...theyre so flimsy, they seem to just protect the exhaust, driveshaft, brake lines, etc....I mean, theyre hollow and just spot welded to the floor, so if I cut the bad part out and replace it I think it will be fine.

yeah... i had sections of my freakin floor missing...

cut out, reweld, you're good to go.

no point in chucking the car for such a stupid reason.

all depends on the purpose of the car.. if its for your own enjoyment, then who cares. if its for resale or collectors.. well then, its not exactly clean.. is it?
