My friend just swapped his motor from s13 to s14. The engine came off an automatic, and he did a manual conversion on it and is using the auto ecu. But the car is manual from the start. He is doing the wiring from the hybrid guide, he has swapped this b4 and this situation never happened like this before. He checked the wiring like 15 times and says its correct. The booster packs for the battery terminals have enough power. When you turn the key to try to crank it just clicks once and you can hear the fuel pumping but no crank, the accessories work and everything. Could this be the starter? If not what else can it be? Because i know its not the coilpacks, ignition chip or CAS because it doesnt have anything to do with it cranking.
thanks any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem with my sr. Turned out to be the fuel pump. Just get a walbro 255lph pump. Even if your stock pump is good, it's still a good idea to upgrade.

try jumping the car off....or resurface the contact points of the start signal plug on the starter.

had the same problem.. that wiring guide u used doenst mention anything about the lower harness...first thing u need to do it this... there are 2 threads protruding from the starter.. one is grounded the other has a 12v constant wire coming straight from the battery... heres where my problem was.. the plug that connects to the starter that acts as a starter has to be wired to the s14 chassis starter wire... the s14 is weird in that it changes the starter wire color from ignition to starter.. by the power distribution there should be a fat wire that is black/white or black/yellow.. this is your starter wire... this needs to be connected to the wire that comes from your lower harness and starter... use a test light to make sure that black wire is the correct one..

Souds like the shift interlock signal isnt wired right.
Or a bad starter.
