That's not bad. Did you remember to convert Km to miles? Most importers claim 30 - 50K miles, but I'm skeptical about that. These engines are around 10 years old and taken from junked cars so how can the mileage always be so low? But I think Japan has strict laws or cultural standards or something that cause people to junk cars that are more than 6 years old. Nissan engines are very reliable, and I expect my SR20DET to last 200K miles. Who here has the highest miles on an SR20DET motor? Mine was claimed to have 50K miles of course, and I've added 8K more so far.

:ugh: Mine had 75k when I got it. Which made me mad cuz they told me over the phone that it had 30k. Anyway, now it has about 85,000 :rant2:
BTW: it's SR20DET no hyphen.... :mepoke:

isnt there way to run your ecu to check the actual mileage? I suspect mine has about 51k miles and is running strong as ever

mileage/kmage is really unimportant. Granted, the less you have - GENERALLY - the better condition the motor is in. However, the previous car of the motor is very important. Show me 2 engines, one with 15k miles(that never even had an oil change) and one with 150k miles(that was meticulously cared for), and i'll pick the higher mileage one..
Check the oil pan for gunk buildup, smell the inside of the valve cover for a burnt oil smell, look at the cam lobes to see how clean they are. Stuff like this will tell you the kind of condition a motor is in.

PS. If you find large metal bits in the oil pan, that's GENERALLY a bad thing.
Ok, it's always a bad thing.

mikespeed : i hope your joking. i don't know anything about sr20s, but you better figure out whats creating metal bits in your engine.
