www.ka24de.com has ones that fit for sure... but I don't think they would tell you which ones.

no rod bolts, only head and mains, its either a 8mm or 9mm, but i dont know where to measure at, the bolt has a thick spot then tapers to a thinner, then thiner again at the threads for the nut, igot 8mm at the nut, 9.2mm on one of the other parts, and 8.38mm ish on another, so i dont know if it would be considered a 8mm?

I can check the l20-Z, and vg styles tomorrow and see if either of those are the ones you need. Now, i would assume ka uses same bolts as vg, because of the similar journal dimensions (more similar than that of the others). I dont have any l24 bolts to check. Ill let you know what i find, i would check now but my entire nissan/datsun inventory is about 15 miles away.

ok sweet thanks, its either a "8mm" or '9mm" modifeid mag did it on there old project 240, but they said 8 or 9 mm then what motors, and if you look at the motors bolts at summit it said one was 9mm and the other is 8mm so they either listed the the wrong size, or listed the wrong motor.

normally you can just send them in to ARP. they will give you the right ones that way for sure.

Hey Ryan, sorry for the late response but i checked those bolts today. Ok i checked l20b,z24, and vg30e rod bolts and compared them to Ka24e rod bolts (all i had but they are same as de).

L20b rod bolts are basically identical, only difference is the texture of the bolt where it is semi press fit to the rod. Length, thread pitch, and all other dimensions where checked. These will work properly in ka rod.

z24i rod bolts are 100% identical to ka24e, all dimensions

vg30e rod bolts are slightly longer overall than any of the others checked. The acutal thread pitch is the the same, but the part of the bolt that presses into the rod is larger (probably the 9mm vs. 8mm of the others).

So I can safely say that the l20, z22 (rod bolts same as z24) arp rod bolts are the ones you want.

ok awsome, i was gonna get crower rods but do to wanting to get the motor done by june and not go into debt, i m just gonna go with rod bolt change, but thanks for compareing for me, i cant wait to get the motor done, i got it torn down to head on block with internals, but tomorrow the head comes off and the crank and internals come off. i got lucky and almost all the timing parts look brand new so i saved all of them, my friend knows the previous owner and he kept up on every thing maintence wise. any recomendations for bearings? i was thinking go with oem cause i havent saw many aftermarket ka ones......

but thanks for the help........

OEM is fine for bearings, in fact someone did a comparison between OEM and federal mogul with some testing equipment and found that the federal mogul bearings were more consistant and of better quality than oem and they cost less. So check autozone/advance.

thats cool but last time i was at auto zone they have "standard" and 10 over 20 over, and the oem nissan bearings come in differnt sizes so they can be adjsut later...my nissan mechanic friend told me if i dont need a regrind i can up my oil pressure by trying the next bearing up....

my nissan guy said it was from hydra lock cause the only thing messed up was the rod, he siad that happens when a injector goes bad, all i need is a new rod and she should be good.
