I've got a buddy who is in the military in japan. He is looking for somebody to do business with over in the US here for jdm parts. Just wondering what the demand is like for the s15 headlights or s14 jdm headlights. I may be able to get nismo parts as well. Just wondering what the demand is before i make a commitment to my buddy.
Let me know if anybody is interested.

ebay is a great place to check. and people on ebay usually pay more for stuff then on this site. cause people here know the true value. most the guys on ebay dont. in my experience anyway. go search by completed items and it will give you a rough estimate on the going rate and demand.

I was thinking it could be a great cash cow b/c those things are NOT cheap...
Single biggest reason I didn't go after S13.5 conversion

yea. well, i wrote a big ass post but it had an error so i'll jus sum it up.
although it seems lik many ppl are doing s15 conversions, not a lot of people are acutally doing it. they are mostly just talk. the reason being, s15 headlights and everythign that needed for the conversion cost a grip. at least 3Gs for quality parts. many ppl will either cheap out or opt to do suspension or other performance mods before going to s15 front. for that reason alone, the demand for s15 headlights might not be as high as it appears. dont get me wrong, the s15 conversion is more popular than it was in the past, but there are only still a handful of ppl who done it. ok, maybe a couple handfuls with this new drift craze.
also, s14 jdm headlights might be demanded. there are tons of ppl who want to convert from s14 zenki face to s14 kouki face. its about 1500 and a lot cheaper than going s15. thats why we see a lot of sil80s nowadays.. because the conversion is pretty affordable at 1000,but thers a lot of ghetto unpainted/primered ones out there.
however, if you do decide to import s14 or s15 headlights make sure the price is attractive. it'll be hard to compete against hte big companies who carry thsese things and the s14 usdm can be had at any nissan dealership so maybe market the s14 jdm kouki lights at 100 or so above nissan oem msrp or market rate. any more than that, and i think ppl will just opt to buy from nissan dealers because the jdm and usdm s14 kouki headlights differ only in a bigger projector. not much of a difference to many pplz.
oh yea, it might be better and more profitable if you oculd bring in other high demand items like s15 turbos and maybe nismo parts. but again, s15 turbos are going for about 800 from online sources and nissan dealerships can get them for you too. kinda hard to get them for cheaper than that from jdm nissan dealership and still make a profit but maybe you got your sources so i wont question it. it might be better to maybe bring in used jdm stuff, but then you'll probably be competeing w/ jspec and others.
