400r is 2.9 litres, that would b ethe rbx29dett in the 400r, wouldnt it?

the other day someone was telling me that GTS r31's had the RB30ET (also in the late 80's holden commodore VL), the SOHC hog of an RB, but im pretty sure they had RB20DET's...can anyone verify this?

yes u r correct the r31 and commodore used a rb30et...the et cam with 7.5 compression ratio ....u guess u pplz havent heard of all the people doing the rb30det swap with a old rb30et and a rb25 or rb26 head...alot like the ls/vtec swap with hondas.

i figured it was possible, but i usually only hear of people just putting a GTR engine into an r31. oh well, sounds cool, like your very own CRVTEC, only for nissan, and not gay what kind of power does this make compared to a normal rb25det or rb26dett? I'd guess alot more torque?

I am currently putting that motor (RB25DET) into my S13 right now.

The conversion for customers is going to be about $8000 for a complete swap. Thats drive in drive out......

im confused, you charging $8000 for the rb20 or rb25? unstable-hybrids is charging $8000 for the rb25 installed w/ FMIC and looks like everything you need to get going.

oh well, nothing to worry about from unstable-hybrids, since they're all the way here in the southeast and you're out there on the west coast. your car is pretty sweet, i cant wait to see how the rb25 transplant goes
