OK i have an S13, im planning on putting S14 Front LCA's on it. I've done a good amount of research and I think I know what it entails. I know its going to push the track out by 10-15mm. (does anyone know how far exactly?) This is going to give me more negative camber. This i want, as i can adjust toe by myself and i know more negative camber up front = better handling. I know i have to get S13 ball joints pressed into them to fit on my 4lug S13 hub. I am NOT going to do the 5lug conversion, as i am about to buy DT-05R's. (b/c they are the only really good sized 4lug wheel with a great price, and this way i can put R compounds on my SE wheels for AutoX). Ok so i have 3 questions:
1. Will putting the S14 LCA's on my S13 be very beneficial? has anyone ever done it? Will i DEFINITELY need camber plates?
2. What sway bar will i have to use? can i keep my stock S13 one? Will I have to drill my own mounting holes to accomodate the S13 one? OR Will i have to go with a JDM one or maybe an S14 one? or would that not work at all?
3. What offset should i go with on a 17x7.5 in wheel? (up front) i plan on mounting a 225or235/40/17 tire. i can choose from +15 or +25 offset
BTW I DID search guys so dont flame me for not knowing, if the previous information has been stated before then sorry, maby i didn't use the right keywords. thanks in advance.
one more quick question, will 6.125 mm spacers on S13 hubs w/ stock lugs and Z rotors still be safe? ive read that 5mm is ok, but i was wondering if that was pushing the limits. thanks again

sorry i can't offer much insight, but all s14's came with front antiroll bars, though base models did not come equipped with rears. the "swaybar" is an integral part of any macpherson strut suspension, so the holes in the lca's should be a non issue

I was thinking about using S14 LCAs, but I think I'll just get some 15mm spacers now...
6.25mm is almost a 1/4," and I had some 1/4" spacers on the front wheels for about 4000 miles with no problems. I just checked the torque on the lug nuts every once in a while, never changed. I think you'd be fine.

will the camber be effective? hmmmm...

no, spacers wont do near the same thing as LCA's.... spacers will simply space the wheel out Xmm's.... LCA's push the bottom of the hub out and create a more drastic negative camber angle. I dont know if you knew that or were confused but you sounded like you were saying that spacers and LCA's would do the same thing... Nope...
hey nightwalker... what do you mean by that comment? i dont understand

And the wheels bolts on to...
Yes, I know it adds negative camber, but it also give you a wider track (10mm according to Kookz, who has them on his S13). You even said yourself "I know its going to push the track out by 10-15mm," and that's the only reason why I wanted them. I don't need LCAs to add more negative camber, that's what camber plates are for... I just want a wider front track.

the answer to question one is you will need to have all your front suspension parts adjustable to restore proper tracking on the car i.e. camber plates , adjustable tc rods for caster adjustment . people have done what your talking about but the ones that I know that did it had fully adjustable front ends to compensate. believe me when I say the amount of trade off in having to readjust everything is not worth the 10-15mm of extra tracking. plus negative camber can be achieved with camber plates period and the only reason for even running a s14 lca on a s13 would be because you were doing a 5 lug conversion. At that point all you really need to do is change your ball joint. Our cars have plenty of tracking as it is . In fact our cars are rather wide track already compared to a lot of other sports cars.

I saw an s13 with s15 lca's and rear axle and fender flares all around. ca18det, "wide track."
