View Full Version : Still hitting dust-cover on J30 swap with shorter DS.....

Hey. Well in order for my J30 Diff swap to be perfect. I odered an ABS (shorter) driveshaft for my S14 Base. The drive shaft looked to be the right amount shorter but the front U-joint is still rubbing on the trans dust-cover!
Was it not built right, or is it normal to still have to knock the dust cover off with an aftermarket shaft?

Just kind of irritating to spend the extra $ for everything to fit and have s!#* rubbing!

best bet is to switch over to a proper s13 diff.

It is the Tranny dust cover The driveshaft is rubbing on. After buying the shorter aluminum one I'll just pop the cover off rather than swapping diffs again.
