First of all I've been burned before on a similar site... Plus I don't know any of you so how is protecting my own money nonsense ...?

If needed PayPal has a dispute process.
If you don't trust buying from people via the internet you should deal locally via Craigslist or simply buy new from a full vendor.

Expecting someone to send you goods for you to "inspect" and then having faith that you send payment is pretty far fetched.
