Wow, if you check that thread, and see how many different boards it made it too, its nice knowing that in tough times no matter what kind of cars people drive, they all stick up for each other!! So many people registered just to give support and say what board they got linked from!

that story is crazy. i just saw it off rx7club and i was shocked. was gonna post it here and found this thread. how many people had to fuck up for that guys car to get repossessed when he owned it... lol. and then they tried to get him to sign some liability waiver when he was there with title, his lawyer and a cop... they deserve to get pwned.

how'd the bank get the vin number? thats what i'm wondering.

hmm, i'm definatey going to cover up the vin now, but it's not that hard to steal a s13.

towing is a scam~

yea i remember seeing on 20/20 a few years back that assholes who own tow trucks would go around and just tow cars for no reason. and then you get hit with a bill for them towing your car and keeping in storage while they give you some lame ass excuse that you're car was illegaly parked or some bs.

the only way the bank would have the vin is if he originally financed through them and they made a mistake saying a payment hadn't been made in xx long and blah even though it really was paid off. mistakes do happen and banks are usually very willing to step up and apologize. I had a similar situation with my bank that finances my mercedes saying I had missed a couple payments, but it turned out that my payment slips were just filled out wrong so I was alright there and they apologized for the trouble and sent me corrected slips.
to me it sounds like this may have been a scam because VW won't know if the repo guy really needs to repo or not. they may have been trying to get money from the guy and he just called their shit out. like he said, when he produced the title if the lawyer wasn't there be like "it will be $300 sevice or something".

or I could have read the whole original thread to realize it was the banks mistake.
