What's up guys? I'm in the process of piecing together my budget turbo build for my KA and wanted a little guidance in doing so. I've been researching for some months now and wanted to be clear on some things from personal experience from some of you. My power goals are in the range of 215-225 hp. (7-8psi max) I don't want anything too crazy since this will be a daily driver. 146k miles on a well maintained KA with auto transmission. Here's my build.

- t25/t28 or td04 turbo charger
- walbro
- Blox 8:1 fmu
- ebay manifold
- ebay fmic
- down pipe
- transmission cooler
- Hks bov (optional?)

As far as the turbos go, I can't find solid answers on whether t25's from saab 900's would work and any info on people using td04's or gt17's. I've also been deciding if it would be worth using either of those turbos. I'm trying to find good deals on some used T25 Garrets under $150.00 but no luck, the offers on some of those other turbos I listed are tempting but don't want to buy it if it's not worth it. Ayways one last thing, is there something I'm missing from this list? I've calculated this all and have gotten under $1k if I shop smart. Ideas on how much to install this at a shop? Any info appreciated

what about injectors and a tune?

If it's going to be a daily driver, you're going to want reliability. Get yourself an enthalpy tuned ECU, get 370cc injectors and try to find a bargain on a used SR20 T25.

I've read that an fmu is reliable as long as it doesn't exceed 8 psi. As for the injectors, research also stated stock is fine for that low setup. I guess I will continue the hunt for a SR20 T25.

nothing will be more reliable then a dyno tune, with that being said your t2x setup on a ka can be reliable again with a good tune, my ka makes 300hp with a t3t4 and have been being on it for 5 months now with no worries

Do you think I can get away with a t2x from a saab? Or am I only looking for one from a SR? I believe the outlet might be different.

i know honda people have run them but if you get the correct flange and weld it on your downpipe, anythings possible but sr turbos will always be avakliable

If I were you and I was planning 215hp, I'd build for 300hp. Because you will want more at some point... A little extra spent now will save you later.

Perhaps I shall look into a saab t2x then if I have trouble finding a good deal on the SR T25, if all it is welding the flange to the downpipe. Some guy tried selling me a Mitsubishi td04 in great condition for 80 bucks.

Yeah I was thinking the same...I have a heavy foot and see craving more power.
