Recently my vehicle got severely damaged and am nearly certain its totalled. Has anyone ever dealt with allstate who was in my situation before? Does allstate let you purchase your vehicle back once its been deemed totaled?

Yes, but it will get a salvaged title.
They will also deduct the salvage value, which is what they feel they would get at auction.

My brother rolled his RSX a few weeks ago and got offered 8k or so by the insurance company, they ended up giving him the car back + 7k.

Insurance companies will either "buy" the totaled car from you, for let's say 4k, or give you the car back and give you 3k to fix it. The choice is yours. Usually you can fix it for less than what they give you, if you play your cards right.
Unless you sell it back to the insurance, you're still in possession of the title, so it won't have a salvage title. Carfax will show accident.

I think it was AllState when my car was totaled. Valued the car at ~$3200 and bought it back for like $400 so ended up with my car and $2800 in my pocket.
