how reliable is the stock intercooler for an sr20 redtop, and i am planning to get a FMIC anyways but whats a good company and a good price, I am seeing most around 800? I can possible get a hold of a intercooler off a wrecked mack truck and was thinking to cut a chunk and weld ends on, is that a good idea?

greddy r-spl is a good intercooler that doesn't get heat soaked as fast as a v-spl. but as far as the semi truck i/c being a good idea.....i don't know. doesn't sound like it. you might spend as much money making the damn thing as you would hanging up one you bought. and then you ask another question that i think you are just rambling here because none of these is connected really but anyway "how reliable is the stock intercooler for an sr20?" about as reliable as it looks. a small ass side mount intercooler that wont flow as well as a fmic.
www.boost-solutions.com call brandon and order a front mount now!

Hey thanks, yes I presumed stock pretty much "sucked" but I was looking just to see until I could afford another grand almost on a new one. I can get probably for free the intercoolers off a mack thats the only reason I was questioning and friends of mine have done that for thier turbo hondas, costing about $250 and work well at 12-15 psi.
