well, hello I'm new here and I'm planning on doing a 1j/240sx swap And I just have a couple questions.
and yes I've used the search many times now and I can't find solid information.
1. what is the best swap kit for reliability? tech2 or zerolift?
2. how easy is the swap?
3. what is all needed to be done? I've heard from different people the the q45 rear diff is needed? and new axles and things like that.
4. from 1js13 owners, what was your final cost with EVERYTHING for the swap?
5. time it took?
and finally! what fabrication is needed?
if I could get just some simple answers that would be great, thanks.

well as far as tech2 or zerolift they both good company. my friend went with Xcessive hold up ok. yes you can use the q45 and their axles dont need to buy new ones. my freind has the j30 on it and had a custom driveshaft for it. money wise i will not know but he send some money getting everything new like water pump, injectors and etc...that all i know from what i did to help him..hope that helps good luck

If only there was this thread.
Most of the information carries over for the 1JZ stuff.
Unless you do everything yourself (wiring/mounts/labor) Figure $6k is a good ballpark on the low end of things. i know people find deals and buy stuff used but for a good swap its not cheap.

1. There is a 2jz swap thread so you didn't search.
2. I have no personal experience with those kits, I used Xcessive.
3. Whoever told you that you need a Q45 diff is stupid. You can use the diff you have now with a custom driveshaft made.
4. It all depends on the deals you get and who you know and if you plan on doing the swap yourself, expect to pay around 6-8000$ when it's all said and done. I haven't paid anywhere near that number so that's not a set in stone number. It's just the average estimate.
5. Idk, however long it takes. Ive been taking my time because I'm building a competition car. I'm not just swapping it in and going. There's more to it in my case.
6. No fabrication?! Unless you want to do something special I guess.
7. Learn to search the 2jz Thread has a ton of info and all of these questions could have been answered reading that thread. Just saying
