Hey so I'm swapping a SR20DET into my Datsun but I wanna drive in to my shop a block away to do the finishing touches. No charge pipes or downpipe has been fabricated yet. Is it safe to run for a minute or two?

Just push the damn thing or pull it with another car.

no downpipe, no problem, except it will be noisy as hell and will send fumes everywhere under the hood.
No charge pipe though means your engine will not measure nor filter the air entering it. Combine both and you will very likely "recycle" exhaust gas, dirt and debris in your intake, which usually is not very good for engine health.
Also, if your firewall is not totally sealed, you will get fumes in.
So no, not safe, nor ok. Tow it...

I have a Rb25 without any piping, missing oil pan, no oil pump, and no radiator. Is it sate to drive?

Just make sure to top off the oil and coolant before you drive!

stick your MAF on the throttle body and it should run OK. just don't try to boost it lol

If you can not get it there ANY OTHER WAY. As in, going to autozone and buying a 20 dollar tow strap and towing it with a pinto from your redneck neighbor. Then you can technically do it. Is it smart? No. But it is possible.
Like 96turbo said, put the maf on you TB and you "should" be able to drive it.... slow....
But what's it worth to you? 1200 dollar engine or 20 dollar tow strap?

Oh yeah, because I'm going to spend money to tow the car up the block. And yeah I can push the car in a busy intersection up into a steep driveway, no problem.
And thanks for those who actually answered my question, I am seriously going to run it less then a minute.

screw a 20$ coupler and tie strap.. duct-tape the MAF around the throttle body, crank it up, and putter over the shop. wont hurt anything

Why do you bother asking if you dont care about the answer you get ? This is so typical :picardfp:
Cant you understand you need maybe 30 revs to ruin your engine ?
Bah, whatever. Just dont complain when you need to bore & hone again.

You face palmed me, but I don't think you even understand what you're saying. I never complained about the responses, and what answers? All I got where trolling remarks. Out of all the posts, only about two helped and I thanked them for it.
Please, feel free to elaborate some more. I would love to hear more from you.
And to remain on topic, I will not be running the car I'm just going to have it towed a few miles and pay a fabricator.
