Hey guys...I'm finishing off my body work. My last piece is the hood and I can't decide which one to use. Tell me what u all think.
BN Sports (FRP) or Yashio Factory (CF)?
I love the looks of both, but can't decide. Any experiences with either?
Oh yea, I'm using a full CWest kit with MSports fender front and rear...

BN SPORTS are far nicer, imho
i love their kits. but you MUST HAVE THE RIGHT WHEELS!!!!!!!!!!!
both fit PERFECT. i know BN Sports does for a fact
Yashio has excellent products too and im sure no fitment issues

yashio factory 1, bn sports 2. hmm...sounds like both are good options though.
My car will be cobalt blue.
If I go YF I'll keep it CF and get the matching pillars (where the door and rear windows meet).
If I go BN it'll be color matched (obviously).
Both will be running about $1000.00 shipped. Any other opinions?

yes
what wheels (size and offset) are you going with?

My stock KA24DE won't be backing up the bold looks. :duh:
I'm more interested in some 17's with phat ass tires to fill in my nasty fender gap. The only problem with that is lack of offsets offered by 17's. 18's come in varieties of offsets and widths, which are more ideal for my setup.
Yet, i'm hard headed as hell and want 17' anyway! haha...
I still want to spin this suckers. Do you know of any 17's that go deep (17 x 9/10 with low offset)?

It's gettin chopped up in the body shop as we speak...So i'm not sure how it looks at da moment.
Other than that:
Brembo brakes, MM pads, goodridge lines, stock KA24DE, K&N drop in, Blitz NUR cat back, and various suspension components (STB, TR, etc)...

I don't really like the side skirts.

......stock KA24DE...
:hahano: I hope that your at least doing something engine wise. And what about the wheels? I hope you got some wide wheels and low offsets to fill those wide fenders.
So I'm guessing this is gonna be a carpet queen?

well, my personal preference is: CF > Fiberglass
but the BN sports looks nicer than the yashio factory. if the BN came in CF, i'd definitely get that. the BN appears great for top mount..
where are you getting the hoods at? what importer?

If you are going to spend so much on exterior, why C-West? Whyyyyyyy? If you're going all hardcore, you should have went BN all the way around. You can't find low offset 17's? Serious? Find someone who sells Work or Speed Star wheels and get them from Japan, any size you want. I mean, you are spending thousands, might as well spend a few more thousand on nice wheels. Or you can get FN01RC 17x9 +15 and put 15mm spacers to match the fenders but that wouldn't be as cool as having a nice set of 17x9 +0 front, 18x10 +10 rear. If you go hardcore on one thing, might as well go hardcore on it all.

BN kits is soo much better than the YF. I just think the 180 front for YF kits is ugly. S15 one is nice though :)

Pretty much all of the well know japanese kits fit well. C-west is just ugly, that's all. I forgot to vote on the hood, BN all the way.

C-West is nice, but the wing blows ass. C-West is wind tested :), don't know what other ones are? But you probably won't ever put it to use.

I've always liked the cwest kit on s13's...
I saw a pic of a white s13 from HIN with the c-west kit.. I think it was Chris from Speed Alliance's car?? that thing was hot.. kouki wing, and 5zigen Typhoons, and some crazy hood.

The BN kit is a lot nicer, but with their kits are all very agressive and bold, not that subtle, so you gotta get some crazy nice wheels to complete the look.

Auto Imaging/Project D whatever its called had that car, not sure if its the same person, or they bought it. But the C-West kit looked real nice on that car. Attached is a pic from last year HIN in Chicago. Didn't go or take that pic so don't ask for more. It was in Super Street.

wow, my thread got a lot of replies...haha. thats pretty cool.
but anyways, i want to stick with the Full CWest kit all the way. It's just my taste I guess. To fill the fender space, more than likely I'll be hittin up either:
SSR Type C (Gold) 17 x 9.5 (+15) Front
SSR Type C (Gold) 18 x 10.5 (+15) Rear
5Zigen FN01RC (Bronze) 17 x 9.5 (+15) Front
5Zigen FN01RC (Bronze) 18 x 10.5 (+12) Rear
I firmly, absolutely, do not believe in the use of WHEEL SPACERS!!! haha...
Maybe I'm weird but I have this belief that it throws the mechanics of your suspension off. It's just so generic-like to slap a piece of metal between your wheel and hub. Doesn't appeal to me. O well...
sideview: I'm going to ImportFan.com for these hoods. (I know, I know - ImportFan/GTP sux ass). But, they are currently the "Official BN Sports distributor in the US." So for this I'll make an exception.
I'm still torn between these 2 hoods. I like carbon and I also like FRP. :(
Which one would be more useful wit the use of an SR20 with a FMIC? Any cooling advantages of either?

O yea, 4got to mention...
The hood on the white 240 above is from CWest as well...
It's gotta keen look to it, but I'm still feelin the YF and BN, let me know if there are any other opinions...

Those are sizes were published by 5Zigen. Got it through Wholesale Hyperformance in City of Industry, CA. Not sure how accurate they are. If I'm not using those: I was also looking into Advans.
