View Full Version : Which way to die is worse?

Alright, so, me and my buddy are sitting here watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall and it was on the scene where they were sitting on a surfboard in the ocean.
Me: Man, that shit would be scary. Not knowing if a shark was under there about to bite your leg and pull you under. It'd suck to die like that.
My buddy: Dude, I've been skydiving before. It's a little scarier to think about your parachute not deploying and falling to your death.
Me: You're an idiot, let's see how Zilvia feels.
So here we are now, which is a worse way to die? Parachute not deploying and falling to your death or a shark biting you and pulling you under water and drowning you. Either way, it'd suck. One way you have hundreds of feet to think about how hard you're gonna hit. But the other way, you look down and see a scary ass shark biting your leg and you can't do anything but go where his scary ass goes while he drowns you.
Sorry if I offended anyone who fell to their death or was ate by a shark.

Stuck in a small tunnel, on your back, arms at your sides. Pitch black, you can't move. Water is slowly rising.
Enjoy the nightmares boys.

Drowning type suffocation would be horrible, because you KNOW you can't breathe water, and you hold it in for as long as you can, but you just end up giving in, Knowing taking that breath of water will kill you. that is horrible.
no matter what you tried, hold long you held your breath, you know your dead before you even die

Shark+drowning=2 deaths in 1. Winner by default.
Dude, you're being fucking eaten while you're drowning. Fuck that shit.

How about you're paralyzed from moving, but still have all feeling in your nerves, and you get thrown into a huge colony of bullet ants.

Death, or Living forever, on earth BY YOURSELF.

Burning to death has always seemed like one of the worst ways to die. Like literally being on fire and not being able to put yourself out.

For those who chose skydiving death how would you try to land?
Head first to get it over with?

Here is something for you, 2 deaf twins that where going blind, decided life wasn't worth living anymore .. Can't think it gets no worse than that, though the death inself isn't painful, but the thought of living life like that.

You actually pass out pretty quickly.

Burning is definitely one of the most painful ways to die.

By then other organic creatures would have evolved into sentient beings.
I would have one crazy ass well trained pack of dogs.
I would be so fucking crazy it wouldn't matter.

The shark is more likely to take your leg off so you're having exsanguination race drowning to the end. Your heart amps up because you are flailing around, furiously pumping blood out through your femoral artery, and you are likely trying to scream and fend off shock as you attempt to fight your way back to the surface. It's not looking good.
The freefall is probably worse because time is liquid in those type of instances: while you may only have 31sec of free-fall, knowing your 'chute will not deploy is probably going to make those last seconds pretty agonizing as you have your own chance to ponder the next part. There's also the off chance that you hit the ground and live. Or you hit the ground, live, and then kick it.
I also think living forever would be terrible. Death is natural progression and after a certain point, say when you've outlived your friends, family, peers, and the people you've known, you might decide that it's time to move on.

I think I read somewhere, during a shark attack, gouge the sharks eyes and it should let go. so you might survive that.

I don't see how free falling for 20 seconds realizing your going to be squashed is "fun" especially when you immediately realize how meaningless your life was and how meaningless this death is - it could have easily been avoided by simply "not skydiving today".
Beyond that, it would be instant and painless (depending on altitude).
A Shark bite is similar in that you'll first be filled with fear and determination to survive - fighting for your life, but once your dragged back on the beach, bleeding out you'll in the last few minutes realize your about to die... and die. You'll have lost blood so fast that you'll be in shock and the whole thing will be "painless".
How about being rapped and killed by a serial killer?

This is why I don't believe in Ghosts and hauntings. With all the gruesome and horrific deaths that humans have endured for 10s of thousands of years I think if the raging dead could vent on the living shit would be more like "FF:Spirits Within".

Attacking the nose or the eyes will make the shark break off the initial bite/attack.
It won't stop other sharks. It won't stop the massive bleeding you will experience from simply a bite. Thats 20+ massive knives shoved in your leg, if one of them hit your Femoral Artery, you are dead.

I diss agree. Most people will out live their friends, family and peers. People become "ready" only because it's futile in your latter years. You can barely move, breath or remember anything. Everyone you know is dead or dying and no one else in the world gives a shit anymore. You also have nothing to look forward too, nothing to plan for. When your 87 years old and on a oxygen machine you don't get to go "gee, I want to visit Tibet"... instead you can only lay there going "gee, my wife is dead, I have no friends, I can't move and it's only going to get worse... and gee, I wish I had gone to Tibet, I wish I had apologized to Bert before he died of alzheimer's... gee, here comes the nurse to change my diaper".

Can a brain even hold enough memories for "forever" or would it eventually turn into yogurt.
When you really think about it, you can't even imagine "forever" there is no end. Just try to imagine it right now. you cant.

^^^^idk about you guys but id definiatly like to live forever but not if i was to keep aging because that wouldnt be fun to be 170 and have no idea what your doing or being able to do anything but if i could stay at like 25 or something like that id be down
personally i think drowning would be the worst.....gasping for air non stop while swallowing water instead and burning would be second

I'd pick the shark attack mixed with drowning to be the worst. Drowning is my only fear, and I've had a scare with it last year. Whitewater kayaking on the Ottawa river I got trapped in a hole, which is just a spot where the water circulates. I was in there for about 30 seconds just being tossed around waiting to be spit out. Scariest moment of my life. It felt like an hour.

I'd go head first, bust your brain into goo so you wont feel anything thing vs feeling your body shatter completely going in feet first.

The fact you know the people killing you. Stone by stone, you cant move! This is not the first time I came across this. In 2004 a lady in Iraq was stoned to death because her husband helped the U.S. aka snitch.
