ok, so i am thinking about getting an s13....maybe. i have kind of alot of questions so bare with me. one big problem i have with the car is the lack of travel in the front suspension. it would mainly be a street/touge car, but i do want to try autox and drifting also. alot of the roads we run on around here are pretty shitty, so i'm worried about running too stiff or low. at first i thought i'd just get some aftermarket struts like kyb agx along with some lowering springs like maybe whitelines or tein s-techs. then i read that lowering using standard stroke shocks with most lowering springs will leave you with only about an inch or so of travel! now, IDEALLY if money wasn't an issue, i'd want some zeal b6 coilovers 6kg front, 5kg rear (by the way, would you consider this too stiff for street use?). but i'm not gonna be able to drop that kind of dough on suspension for like a decade. i checked out motivational engineering's modified shortened koni struts but they're $200 a pop! what can i do besides just run a stock setup until i have enough money for "real" coilovers? i was thinking maybe i could run kyb agx with ground control coilovers (6kg/5kg) but only lower the car like an inch or something to maintain sufficient stroke. what is the most i should lower when using standard stroke shocks? i know this was a long post, but i need to know if i have any real alternatives to $1500+ coilover setups. i've been searching the forum all night and haven't found the answer i'm looking for. please help me, ima go insane!!!!!!!!!!! :aw:

yea get real coilovers. PM me and I will tell you where to get some nice ones for dirt cheap.

The stock strut stroke is too short, thats all there is to it. boy, try saying that 5 times fast LOL.

check the group buy section, there are some for S13's for 550 or 600. Tein basic are reasonable too. Pretty much for what you are gonna pay for a decent set of shocks and springs (I paid 150 for S tech and around 450 for KYB AGX over a year ago) you could get some entry level coilovers. And you can get used ones for pretty cheap too, but if its close to the price of new ones its not worth it, since you don't know what kind of shape they are in.
