My Fan clutch is going out so I plan to upgrade to an electric fan. I plan to get one of the adjustible an switchs from advanced auto, but what kind of fan should I use? I'd prefer something I can yank out a junkyard car....I've heard Ka altimas and 91 sentra fans fit decent. Any opinions?

i pulled one off of a nissan quest. it's a double fan too..it's about half an inch wider than the oem radiator which should be easy to bolt on i guess. Imma wait till my other parts arrive first before putting it on.
BTW how do you know that your clutch fan is going out? is there a way to find out? thanks!!

You can tell if your fan clutch is going out by trying to spin the fan with your car off. If it spins fairly easy the clutch is fine, but if it doesnt spin then your fan clutch is out. The fan clutch acts like a VLSD with viscous fluid that thickens with heat, therefore turning the fan. When it goes bad the fluid stays thick, and the fan spins at the same RPM your car does all the time, robbing your Horespower and efficiency.
Altima fans work with "a little trimming," from what I understand. Not sure what this entails, I almost got some altima fans out of a junkyard but the shroud was busted. :(
Sentra fans should work too, they're a little smaller though I believe.

90 year sentra fans fit. Fiero fans also fit. I'm using a civic fan. It fits too.

"A little trimming" on Altima fans means taking a hacksaw to the sides of the shroud. There are some mounting ears or other extensions (don't remember exactly, they went in the trash over six months ago) that need to be lopped off before the fans will fit. Right now mine are a hair wider than they really ought to be, so they're sorta wedged in there. I'm gonna clean up the wiring soon and will trim them a bit more so that the shroud/case isn't under compression.

Someone mentioned something about yanking one from a Taurus or something like that. Search for that thread...
Its got some killer CFM and bolts right up, I hear.
