I finally got my fuel pump to work. I don't want to get into too many details, but basically, the previous owner cut all of the OEM wiring off of the fuel pump and only left the positive and negative cables sticking out of the pump, which meant I had to have them both touching the battery terminals in order to start the car, which meant the pump was constantly pumping.
I fixed it with a relay and new wiring, but now the car won't start (it ran before). The pump now primes when the key is turned to the ON position and only pumps when told to by the ECU, so that's all great. I can hear it so I know it's working. But, the car just cranks. The fuel pressure gauge on the engine reads 0 all the time; no gas is getting to the engine. I took out the fuel pump assembly and it doesn't look like there's anything wrong with it. It pumped just fine before I re-wired it. I looked at the gas lines (http://i.imgur.com/H7E4oQ5.jpg) and they're completely dry. I have gas so that's not the issue. Also, when it's done priming, it clicks, rather loudly. I don't know if that's normal or not. Any ideas? Why would I be able to hear the pump running but not be getting any gas out?
