Posting this from my post on 240F to get a quick response. I don't often come here for help, but you guys should know what you're talking about.

Car I'm looking at (and pretty sure buying) has a driver side frame rail rot, on the rail that bends upward (you know, the one that always goes)
Should I buy this: http://www.courtesyparts.com/75169-extension-front-side-memberrear-240sx-s13-1989-1994-p-62580.html
or should I make my own (would be tedious)or get the Xcessive ones?

Also please read my Cat question thread:

More questions:
Car has some rocker rust. I'm not positive on how to fix this.
Also has lower QP rust. I can't even remember how bad this was, but I feel like it will be a bitch to fix.

What do?

Why would you even consider that car as an option?

If the price is right, why not?

The rockers... mine are gonna go soon if I don't act fast, but luckily its only one bend... get some steel that matches the gauge of the car (i do not know that measurement), and bend it to match the rest of the quarter.. i think you'd need an english wheel to bend it correctly though

He wants 1500 for everything, including 2 sets of wheels, maybe a chuki bumper, set of tail lights, and the car has a freshly rebuilt DE with a felpro HG. And a megan catback.
I told him no just recently and now he says his friend is welding in new pieces. Depending on price and quality, I'm confused. He told me that the subframe is clean of rust, but I have trust issues with this guy. He never mentioned a thing about cracked windshield, and it was covered in snow when we got there. He was well aware of it too.

unless he has some kind of proof that engine was rebuilt by someone who knows what the fuck they are talking about, I'd stay far away.

I have full confidence you can find a better deal, or better condition car for similar price..

1 - full of rust

2 - you don't trust the guy

Do you need a reason 3 to see that this isn't a good idea (regardless of what he says he fixed)? Go find another 240 to buy.

yeah I've realized how irrational considering that car is. He now says he can repair the rust, but the car still has problems and sketchiness. Thanks guys.
