Just got my engine this morning (RB20)
and I was tearing her down completely, and noticed..............
The turbo says RB25 on it! and it looks bigger then RB20 pics ( online )
can you guys tell me if this is a RB25 turbo? I've never seen them side by side.. so I don't know
it says A5-V4 ( or 45-V4)
something like that

search the internets bro....
"And if u happen to come accross one branded 45v4 that is a vg30det turbo which uses steel wheels also."
How to identify correctly a rb25 turbo! (http://forums.gtrcanada.com/gts-tech/52472-how-identify-correctly-rb25-turbo.html)
post #6. took me all of... 2 minutes and 34 seconds to find that information.
here is another link: JDM 95 99 Nissan Skyline r33 GTS GTR RB25DET 45V4 Turbo Turbocharger | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/200833619294?item=200833619294&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&cmd=ViewItem&hash=item2ec29dd55e&vxp=mtr)
Help! What Nissan Turbo's do I have? RB25??? [Archive] - PerformanceForums (http://performanceforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-67144928.html)
Just had confirmation of markings on another RB25 turbo from turbogtst. Thanks. It is 45 V4. So still confirms that 45v4 is RB25.
16 V* is Rb20
45 V1 is Vg30 BB
45 V2 is Vg30 BB from auto leopard
45 V3 is Vg30 BB
45 V4 is Rb25 BB
Hoping to get feedback from a few more Nissan turbo owners. :)

yeah I read that stuff online, and posted see. but I was getting conflicted reports on if it is a STEEL wheel or Ceramic
But if it is steel wheel, that is AWESOME!!!! No need to do turbo upgrade then!

Did it occur to you that you could use a small magnet and see if the magnet sticks to the wheel? That way if it sticks... then that means it is steel.... if it doesn't stick, it could mean that it is ceramic (apparently some steel gradess are not magnetic)

I checked online about how to tell if it is Steel vs ceramic by the exhaust turbine bolt, a regular style nut or triangle nut = steel and a hex style nut is Ceramic
unfortunately, this one is hex, so it's probably a ceramic. I can't find my damn magnet
oh well I am going to get every drop out of it I can.
Or maybe I should sell it.
I also got the valve covers off and the oilpan off and it is all clean inside, the oil isn't even black, it looks like maybe 500 miles on the oil

You already have one...
http://zilvia.net/f/builds-builds-only/500400-very-first-240sx-92-s13-rb20det-build.html
It's the first thread you posted here. Although it isn't really much of a build thread. More like "look what I just took apart" thread...

That's weird.. I thought it never posted, and wouldn't. because I read that in progress build threads are not allowed, along with some other stuff.
good to know though, that i can use that
