View Full Version : Megan Racing or Nismo Tranny mount?
I was having that clunking sound thinking it was the driveshaft so i bought one and it didnt fix the problem completely. So now its probably my tranny mount and i just want to know what u guys think of these mounts if you have had experience with them. Ofcourse i would get the nismo one but im tight on money and the megan racing is like $50 bux so ur info will be greatly appreciated! thanx :bigok:

Use your head.
One's manufactured in Japan by Nissan, the other in China by a company new to the game.
There's a reason why one mount is more expensive than the other.

I'm sure you already purchased your mount, but I wanted to throw out a third option for you. I have the Circuit Sports solid trans mount, and love it. coupled with my solid motor mounts, they work and do the job great. i use my car for minimal street use (only on nice days) and mostly track use (drift and drag). no problems, no noises, smooth transitions and no unwanted movement (bumps, uneven tracks/roads etc.) I forget exactly how much i paid, but i believe i got it on enjukuracing.com
if you already got your nismo mount, and end up changing your mind down the road.. check it out.

Basically, cheap chinese, HK and various PU knockoffs will make you cabin vibrate.
Nismos wont.
Anyway the clunking noise usually comes from improper diff backlash, old, worn diff, or dead driveshaft bearing. Surely not from the bushing.

Hi-jacking the thread a little bit... Sorry I've been searching more info on those mounts.
I was just about to order the megan racing mounts which looke pretty good to me but now I'm reading the comments compared to the Nismo's...
Since I'm doing a full rebuild I wanted to change the mounts which are stock on the car with 180xxx Km on the Odometer (Yes they're done for haha).
The price tells me there is an evident difference around 200 bucks plus importing since I'm in Mexico City, the car will be ocasional fun use since my Sentra is the DD, later will do the tranny swap and an SR, but that will come with time.
The car rattles a little bit on idle even though the stock mounts are shit now well it doesn't feel that bad. My concern is if the Megan mounts will vibrate?

Most aftermarket mounts will transfer vibrations from the engine to it's mounting points and in turn more will get into the cabin because of this. The poly mounts vibrate a little less, the solids a little more, but nothing to really get upset over.

Don't ask stupid questions when the answer is obvious

That's why I'm asking if the megan vibrate that's all, I'm not using it for tracks or anything. I'm more of a comfortable ride guy than driving something that will beat me up at the end of the day.

Sounds fair considering the price in Mexico it can get pretty hefty

Fuck MRs and fuck Nismo mounts. Nismo ones are barely better than a brand new stock mounts. Get some Peak Performance mounts...

Or window weld the stock mounts.
Seriously, if you could go for NISMO mounts, might as well get these.
