i'm new here, i recently became the PROUD owner of a 1989 240sx coupe.. auto,sadly.. BUT its okay, trans swap coming soon.. i got the car for free from my cousin, who said he couldn't get it started.. after i rebuilt the starter and a put in a battery it started up just fine. i noticed a little smoke,as well as an empty radiator(with no leak).. i took off the valve cover only to find milky, greenish oil :(.. bad head gasket right? so i start removing the harness, and notice some pretty shoddy looking connectors... some broke and cracked when i removed them.. how do i fix this problem? where could i get new connectors? is there a way to fix them? and are there any components that i can delete when reinstalling? also,i have a parts 86 maxima with a vg30e...possible swap? any help would be greatly appreciated..

What type of connectors? Butt connectors, crimp connectors, oem connectors? OEM you can de-pin them and get a new/used one from a junkyard and slip the pins back in. The other connectors, just cut after the connectors, go to radio shack, buy non insulated crimp connectors and heat shrink, slip on heat shrink, crimp the connectors, slip heat shrink over and apply heat. You can solder instead of crimping, but I like the idea of not having to go back a second time if a solder joint break from to much vibration. This may not happen, but if it's a good crimp it'll stay forever, also if you look at OEM harnesses it's what they use.
And for adding pics Photobucket.com or imageshack.
Good luck.
