They look like a decent place, I would call them and see if they have any past customers you could call and harass about their experience. Sounds dumb but it often works.

Other wise I would post on them in a couple other forums and take reactions.....

As far as SR vs. RB, what do you want to do with the car in the end?? If you dream of high HP, the answer is clear(RB.) I personally drive a pretty stock SR here in MN and I have not found many in my neck of the woods who really run faster than me on the street. I also am not dumb enough to accept challenges from Supra TT's or Big Block Chevys'. But if you just want to outrun kids every now and then, I would look into the SR a bit more. I love my SR, but others need more power to feel good about themselves. There is plenty of potential in both motors.

Bling = RB25DET. Bang for the buck = SR20DET. Both can be good when set up well.

actually, on a side note.. how easy is it to find parts for an RB? I wouldn't even know where to start except one or two places that are $$... I think that's the SR's biggest advantage, finding parts in the US.

hmmm? looking for high hp, then rb? I dont see much rb parts on ebay. If we were in Japan, then yes. But in order to get past the 500mark in a rb25, you'll need a to get custom rods, unless some one has used ones on ebay. IT would take a while and a crap load of money, to be sigificantly higher hp then a sr, minus the 180+lbs. Dont think Im hating, I spent the whole day today removing and cleaning this motor from a clip...

yea and as far as power goes on stock blocks.... I would say they are pretty close to equal before failure sets in. There is an RX7 with an SR that has made 573rwhp uncorrected on a stock block and is still running. I also have a friend who personally tuned the microtech engine management on an S14 with an RB25 and managed to sqeeze 598rwhp out of the stock setup but a few weeks later he lifted the head.

Sr is easier to get parts for now, but I remember a not to distant past when they weren't and as time goes by, there will be less and less sr's and more people will be swapping the rb's in and with that, there will be more parts available.

In the end it does come down to what you want to use the car for also.

Consider the fact that they have S15 headlights listed for over $1000 and they can be purchased from reputable Nissan dealers for under $600. That alone would send me looking elsewhere. But if you're dead set on buying an engine from them be sure they have it in stock when they take your money and not in Japan where they'll likely be using your money to make their purchase.

well the car is my daily driver since im still in college. i want to do something unique, and the sr just seems to be a very common now. and since this happened really suddenly, im kind of in a mad rush to get it done, since i am without a car till i get home, and borrow one from my parents. as the money question, i know the rb will be more money just for the clip its a couple hundred more than the sr. so i figure the rb might run around 4k to get it installed. I am gonna call my shop where i had my car towed to, though and just see what kind of price quote they give me.
