Yea so after drifting around a little last night, my manifold cracked. It shouldnt have cracked since it is the jic manifold. However the cracks are not at the welds, they are in the middle of the runners, weird. Anyways, anyone have a top mount manifold for sale. or a 30-37s a 30r a 28-35r or a 28rs?
Thanks Luke

Did the manifold have a support brace?

haha yeah I've never heard of an autochrome manifold cracking... only them blowing 3" chunks out or shooting wastegate flanges off.
anyway why not just weld the JIC one? seems like the more... cost friendly thing to do.
another manifold bites the dust. i always wondered why they crack. why can we send a man to the moon, now mars but cant build a bullet proof manifold. i dont get it.

oh, but they can. I've seen the ones off the turbo'd indy style cars made of inconel. If you don't mind paying like 10,000 for a manifold they would be GREAT.

In this case on the jic unit. The manifold cracked due to expansion. It did not crack on the welds, it actually cracked on the 4th runner in the middle of the bend. The tube cracked because the other 3 runners were pushing the turbo down with expansion, while the 4th runner was trying to push the other 3 forward. I didnt expect this with a jic manifold, but shiz happens.
Thanks for the input, Luke

lol. you see my point though right? you gotta pay 10,000 dollars for a manifold that IMO should be the standard as far as reliability...somehow i bet that turbo manifold made for american cars wont crack. ie cartech manifold on 5.0 pushing over 1000 horsepower
