im looking for a few good free spyware removers, ive had a few in the past but they want you to pay to remove the programs after they have detected them...

anyone know any good ones that you dont have to pay for?

use them and get a firewall... for some reason I used to get pop up messages like crazy, with a firewall, it tells you everything about what program trys to access the internet and what outside computer trys to access yours etc.

These are what I use to scan and remove spyware:

Lavasoft Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/)
Spybot S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=download)

Use both programs: the things Ad-Aware misses, Spybot will get; and vice-versa.

I also use this:

Javacool SpywareBlaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html)

what this program does, is prevents most spyware from ever being installed on your computer in the first place.

Of course, all three programs are only as good as their latest definitions update, so make sure to update the software once a week or so.

Yup, ad-aware & spybot make a great combination...alone, neither get everything.
Spyware blaster is great also. Use these 3 programs with antivirus and a firewall and you'll be a lot safer.

a firewall will stop these popups just like you saw, but if you don't have $ for a firewall, the above fix works.
