I got the e-brake light and battery light on in my dash and from what i researched it points toward a faulty alternator. However, i noticed that my FL100A main fuse is brown and not shiny copper colored. Does that mean the fuse is blown? I don't think my alternator should be dead as it has been working flawless up until now. It also happened when there was a good amount of corrosion on the battery terminals and my car had been sitting for awhile. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Check the voltage of the battery when it's running. Another thing you could do is undo the negative of the battery when it's running, if the alt is good, it should continue to run.

Do this and watch voltage spike and fry the ECU and other sensitive electronics.
How dumb are you to think of something like that.
What if alternator is putting out 10v to keep the car running without the battery? You think that will mean its still good alternator?
When you put a volt meter, anything below 13v I would be worried about. You can see the specs in service manual.
Check the continuity of the fuse. Replace if needed. Too high voltage could cause a blown fuse. Once you replace it if needed, check voltage of alternator at different rpm

You know, it's been a long time since I've done that and it was on a really old vehicle. Never thought about newer cars, I apologize.

Turns out it was my alternator! It was completely dead and had to have it rebuilt. Running great now.
