What year would be best if I bought an s13. I found a lot of 89's clean in and out.

If and when I do I was wondering where I would get the kouki kit. Tail lights, bumpers, side skirts, etc.

What engine should I drop in? Was thinking sr20 or keep the stock ka.

I'm new to the 240 world recently coming out from Honda. (Needed more power >< hehe)

Please get back to me A.S.A.P!!! ;D

I'll be nice but get ready to get lit on fire buddy. Also you are better off asking questions like this in the sticky thread "Small questions ask here" at the top of the page.

This all depends on how quickly you want to do a swap if you are going to do one. the 240's from 86-90 are all single cams. Not a lot of KA aftermarket for them. You will most likely be swapping in a KA24DE anyway so Just look for a 91-93.

Look on here lots of Type x stuff is for sale all the time. Also check ebay and Nissanparts.cc just got a new shipment in of all the Type x parts.

SR20 is a good swap and readily available. However with the popularity of the KA-T becoming more and more evident you could also stick with that motor as well. It all comes down to what you want to do and how much power you want.

89 and 90 are shit unless the car is super clean(but the engine will still be crap) and they come with a sohc k24e... 91-94 are the best years to get due to the upgrade to dohc k24de. also 91-94 year 240s have a better variety being you can choose from a hatch, coupe or a vert. if youre on a budget just keep ka and turbo it and if you got some money to blow go with sr20det (the engine found in the 240sx's sister cars in japan the 180sx and silvia) having a dual cam 240 will also help with the swap because a sohc tach wont work on a dohc engine and youll end up having to source one that is dohc. obviously a newer s13 has the higher probability of being clean..and then again there is that drift tax most people put on these cars...:picardfp: just stay smart and if the deal seems too good to be true... it usually is

sorry for blabbing hope that helped a bit:ughd:

ts a personal decision just pick something you'll be happy with. If your gonna swap the engine does it even matter what engine it comes with and just so you know 94 are convertables only, as for kits: try and by something made out of polyuerathane or OEM if you decide to go type x. Be prepared to spend a lot of money tho. Parts for the 240 are a bit more expensive.

just make sure it is a good price. 89 is really old and I'd bet 90% of the stock suspension is blown to hell

oops yeah only 94s were a vert option and they only came in auto... but i agree type x is getting more pricey every day.. just like silvia aero.
