Very nice car! If i were you, id put more emphasis on canadian forums as selling it here will be very tough....not legal down south. GTRcanada, NWN, if you havent already. Maybe even son240sx.org for giggles

Update, not going with the Tomei 8280 vvti specific turbo, will be interested to see the gains with the bolt-on kit before pulling the trigger on one... The only dyno I've seen to get this turbo close to 500whp (not sure what dyno they were using) is d'alessio's, which I'm assuming was close to sea level, with cams and 27lbs of boost... no thankyou...

well, going to the HX40R darkside, manifolds for these motors are ridiculously pricey... 1 month wait and 900-$2000 > time to machine my own...

Already started on the flanges, everything is modeled up, stock is cut... Hopefully go-time by this weekend for having the turbo mounted up

machining has commenced... one if its kind

manifold ready to be welded, decked, and then slammed on... very excite...

Does anyone have 38mm V-band dimensions?

Manifold is tigged and 50% decked... It's going on tonight, then the mockup starts for the down, charge, and intake pipe... I need an oil feed/return line and to install my injectors...

I'm honestly not sure what numbers to expect

a little welding and a little cutting to go... down and dump pipes, battery relocate, then re-dyno...

I haven't seen any results from big turbo 1jz vvti motors... Hopefully the CNC manifold flows as awesome as it is expected to...

I think it says Canada, do mods ignore it? lol

Down and dump pipe fab, run my battery relocation kit, dyno, again

She turned 391whp @ 15lbs on a mustang dyno before the walbro started to run out of steam, no timing adjustments as 1 degree was netting a safe 12 whp gain and the pump wouldn't have agreed with that lol...

Very happy, makes power to 8000rpm, which is awesome compared to some built 2jz heads i've seen... Car is a beast

Next is a 400LPH wally and re-tune, and another +3lbs of boost should do.

impressed with how this motor works, as there is very little info on them, does anyone have any info with tuning the vvti on these? We didn't see any changes when we were adjusting it, i'm not sure if there is something simple i was missing...

Any help would be rad... oh, and can mods move this?

update: VVTI functional... this motor is a boss lol

Blue is no VVTI

Red is with.... stock engine, 15lbs, no safe fuel and timing
No-one really runs these motors, there is no "big horsepower" proven dynos, i'm (as well as others) impressed...
car loves to rev... 8000rpm with stock cams and very minimal fall off on power? yes please lol

Hopefully you can tune the VVTi to spool sooner so you can get more power under the curve? Although your results are impressive, most of your power is above 5 grand. When do you reach max boost?

Still, seems tough to beat your JZ for a low buck with no hardcore internal parts for an engine swap?
