I have 116k on my s14 KA motor. Is that too many miles to put on a turbo kit?

Really depends on how the motor was treated.
A compression test, and leak down test will tell you.

for reference, My engine tested with 165psi +/-1psi accross the board, and had 3% leakdown. I've got a 110K miles, and plan to turbo mine. An accountant owned it before me that didn't even know it was RWD, and drove it for 90,000 miles!

Yeah, just do a good check out of the motor. If you do go through with it, you might consider doing a solid tune up on it. new gaskets all the way around.

My turbo SOHC has 145k+ i run 5 psi daily, turn it to 8 once and a while. Just change your oil often/check often and it should be set. Make sure you get a good dyno tune also.

DO IT. You'll never go back. Be sure to have an extra 5 or 6 bills in case the motor DOES decide to go.
BETTER YET, Get another KA and build the bottom end and wait for the motor to go.

Deffinitly get another motor just incase the other ones goes. Mine went with only 74k on it. You can find another engine for quite cheap, usually around 150 if you look for a while.
got mine with 132K on it still on the original clutch. previous owner didnt know the difference between it and an altima except this had 2 less doors.
