For some reason just recently my s13 has had a strong fuel odor inside the car, but only when the heat is running. What could this be coming from?

you probably have a fuel leak in your engine compartment, look a leak or a mist spraying while car running

I had this problem for the longest time!! I spent months trying to figure it out... then I popped my hood finally today and found this.

So did u find the problem?
I had this too. It was a leak from the hose at fuel pump.

Could be the fuel pump or maybe even your fuel cap.

It fixed the smell in my S14 because the fuel cap was letting out a small odor in my interior.

It isn't any of these things. It is the large o-ring that seals between the tank and the fuel sending unit. Nissan sells them for 15 bucks. Replace that and the smell will go away. While you are in that are of the car replace the two 8+ inch long rubber hoses that connect the fuel sending unit to the fuel hard lines mounted to the chassis. Most of the time if these are original they can start to leak from age and moving them around
