Hey guys... I swear to you I searched and found enough answers to have me to have questions here... Flame free zone please!!

I just picked up a super clean auto 93 240 ka24de with HICAS and was looking to swap an sr20 in it for the short term due to tranny issues and a friend who is in dire need of a ka to get his ride working.

Ive put a few sr's in s13's so im familiar with the swap but was not expecting as many problems with the HICAS chasis (from what I have read)

To cut all the run around, I need to:

Do a manual tranny swap

What type of driveshaft will work with the HICAS ABS VLSD on a manual swap

Add coilovers and suspension mods

Will the HICAS subframe and suspension setup cause any problems once deleted in adding modifications
Will deleting the ABS system cause any problems later in going to 5 lug switching rotors ETC....
Once the delete bar is used for HICAS would buying suspension parts (tie rods, axles, so on and so on be the same as buying it for a non HICAS?.

have power steering

Will the powersteering rack work with a new sr20 ps pump and resevoire (dont mind the spelling)
Will buying a HICAS sr20 powersteering pump be better due to the bigger stock resevoire

buy a delete bar for the HICAS

Is this really a viable solution as opposed to getting a new subframe from a non HICAS... will it be stable?
Whats the best kind/best fit to use for this

I don't want to sell this shell (its actually a full car at this point!.. its CLEAN (all 4 fuel pump cover bolts came out easy as pie, all my other 240's i had a hell of a time with rust!) However am I going to spend more money deleting this HICAS system than I would selling this car and buying a non HICAS shell?

Thanks guys

Manual swap is just as any other, get the driveshaft for abs diff

Suspension is same with the exception of not having toe rods on the rear

Ps pump is different for hicas, use one from Sr

Cost on a subframe is probably cheaper than delete kit. I gave mine away to a friend doing the same thing as you

Thanks man... do you know if my auto abs driveshaft would work since I have heard it is shorter?

solutions.

your current driveshaft should work with an SR swap

its cheaper to swap in a non hicas rear end than it is to find a "delete" kit in the states
it'll just take work.

use the SR p/s pump.

fyi, most people consider a hicas steering rack to be an upgrade on the s13. the ratio is quicker compared to the non-hicas steering rack.

I don't think you can use a RHD rack on a LHD car..

My car was hicas equipped. People say to swap subframes, but do you plan on buying adjustable toe rods? If so then deleting the hicas is free when you buy a proper delete kit which is none other than adjustable toe rods.
AMS makes the kit I use. It is adjustable toe rods and you remove all the bs. The hardlines that go to the front. The shitty rear steering rack that probably has busted outer rod ends that will move even when you lock it. It is much easier than swapping subframes and it costs $400 (and the toe rods are very very good quality)

The steering rack is awesome. I love mine. 2.5 turns from lock to lock.

Hicas driveshaft is no different from others. Just use an ABS shaft.

Sr p.s. pump is your ticket.

Let me know if you need any specifics on the delete kit.

HICAS was available on both lhd and rhd cars.

I'll second that. I've been using the AMS Hicas Delete Kit for over 2 years now and it's performed admirably.
