Okay i know there are a ton of these around but this is straight forward.

I need to talk to some one that has done one. I need to know what parts i will need and what has worked best for you. Parts list i have is;

Rb25 trans, powerstreering pump crank pully.
Intercooler kit
I have a ka and sr rad
Down pipe to clear steering shaft
Wiring hardness
Crossmember/ mount kit
New clutch
Oil pan ( motified)

Need to know, like i said, if im missing anything and what worked for you. Not trying to hear f rb go 2jz go ls build sr/ka so please dont waste everyones time with your bias bs. Thanks ahead of time.

If this is all you think it takes to swap in an RB26...this swap isnt for you...

. What you mean. I wasn't trying to sound like a dick but ive read a ton of posts were some one wants to do something then it turns to talking the person out of what they wanna do. I know there is a ton of tedious work to do but im up to the challenge i work on cars for a living and have been doing it for over 20 years so im not a noob. I jyst would like a complete list of parts and things to look out for while doing the swap. I put the sr in my car in hours and i know this is alot different so im expecting it to take a day or two

what fliprayzin240sx (http://zilvia.net/f/members/fliprayzin240sx.html) said!!!!!!! theirs so much that goes into a rb26 swap!

i thought i could do it on a budget, but thats not the case maybe if i had my own shop and shit!

good luck man!

oh yeah... i'd do more but that'd come in time lol i'd change the head gasket and studs after i do some work on the block and change out every internal part :) the stock headgasket and studs should be good up to 500hp...

guess if no one chimes in and helps out i'll have to find out for my self if my friend spots a good one out in Japan soon :)

just read that you'd need a rb25 oil pan since the rb26dett has holes for the front shafts. a rb25 tranny would work fine for the rb26, and i guess i can use my rb25 one peice driveshaft, and mounts for the rb26. all the parts i have i guess :) it'll just leave me with a parted out rb25 lol

See ive hurd the 25 pan is a bad idea that the 26 pan and weld the holes up or have someone weld them up if you cant weld aluminum. The bolt holes are off or missing. Also need the crank pully power steering pump and you may have to modify the lines also my big thing is should i make my own down pipe or is there one out there that works. Does any of the swap kits come with the trans brace or do i need one from a 25 or ka/sr and modify it.

25 pan is indeed not good missing a couple bolt holes.

You will need a 25 crank pulley and PS pump/bracket as the RB26 will not line up properly.

I just completed my install in December 2012. Swap only took me five weeks from start to finish including waiting on smaller parts and building the engine. was pretty straight forward.

my parts list is kinda vague as to the other small things you will need for "YOUR" setup. I ditched the twins as I like as few moving parts as possible in a competition setup.

some things were already there from my 2012 build

I live in Japan and total cost for the swap ran me about 9 to 10k for major and miscellaneous ( holy shit I spelled it right without spell check!!) things.

I highly highly recommend Syko mount kit as the engine sets perfectly. Did my entire swap solo and this went in so easy.. I was like.. something must be wrong. From dropping the engine in to hooking up the trans aligning etc... under 1 hour solo.. so if you have a buddy can be done even faster.

Along with FSM primarily, these are the links I used for cross reference comparison and pictures because I don't like words much.

To be brutally honest 13 years of pass experience, tons of motor swaps and wiring jobs made this swap super easy for me.. Not sure of your level but its not hard at all. Everything you see I pulled from Google with about 30 min of research and it worked for me. I knew going in that the 26 was closely related to the 20 in the electronic schematic department with a sprinkle of 25. My setup was a turn key start affair after I finished the wiring. There are lots of success stories with this swap and a handful of horror stories mainly from those who wanted to cheap it out.......

The only parts that I got in japan were my transmission that I stole from my R33 and the ECR33 front member. Everything else came from America more importantly Enjuku Racing. My turbo and manifold setup came from a new partner in New Zealand Yes I live in Japan but the dollar is weak here currently but going back up.

Thanks alot bud those other 2 can s.a.d. no reason to be rude just cause they cant do it. I just want the motor in not gonna do i full build. So i already new parts i would need the only thing im worried about now is since i did the s14 conversation my engine bay may be alittle shorter since i used an s14 coresupport for the conversion so i may need to do a v mount with intercooler and rad but i got my parts list. Thanks a million biggamehit.

Did you have to do any mods to anything other then the fuel rail and i take it your car is rhd so you didnt have to worry about the steering shaft?

Biggamehit
01-22-2013, 08:53 PM
Yeaup no steering shaft worry but syko performance carries the dump pipe needed to clear while using stock twins in LHD cars. http://sykoperformance.com/

I didn't have to mod anything really could have dropped the engine right in.. I modded the fuel rail because I didn't like how both entry and exit were at the front of the rail. Ill be upgrading to a SARD rail just because I got one for a low price but... the stock rail with the braided line I added could support the power Ill be putting down.

hell yeah! 9-10k to me is well worth a rb26 swap :) and the sound of it... jizz in my pants :)

Indeed bro very much worth every cent, the rough test was good.. went to the track right before the big snow came...had to do much more suspension and engine tuning after. This season is going to be awesome back with the rb power again under comps.
