hi guys,
I was just reinstalling my old oem springs and struts and the Right hat is rubbing onto the fender well, not sure why that is.
i made sure the notch on the hat is facing inwards towards the car while the mounts face outward.

its the top hat of the spring that connects to the front strut mount that giant circular disc "hat" for the spring.
it rubs in the fender well, when it spins in a circle....
example when you turn the steering wheel the "hat" rubs on the fender well like the angle is off or something, but i checked the oem specs on how to reassemble and followed them... so i;m stumped, doesnt happen on the driver side, only passenger side.
works fine with coils, but that's because the hats are "narrower" compared to stock hats.
I would take a pic but I just put the whole car together pretty pooped.... sorry to not be helpful.... but, i'm still hoping someone else may have had this issue and can chime in... or i'm doing something wrong.

Take a breather, snap some pics tomorrow, and we'll see if we can attack it then. It's sort of hard to visualize (at least to me) without seeing.
The upper plate should rest perfectly flat against the top of the strut tower, shouldn't rub anywhere.

hmm maybe the top of the strut just needs to spin? Then reinstall withe the top three studs on the stut in different holes. I forget, but maybe the top of the strut where it mounts ( including that ring for the top of the spring) is not totally symmetrical.

Did you install the struts into their correct sides?

do you think the arrangement of the three studs on the top mount matter? i figure... since it's a "triangle" it should be universal, in any hole it should be the same, I could be wrong, I will def give that another try when I take it apart.
