having a real weird problem with my clutch... 94 s13. we're driving and i notice that every time i push the clutch in to shift gears, the clutch gets closer to the floor. but if i lift it back up with my foot it works like normal.

tried bleeding it and it only got worse...

if i push the pedal to the floor slowly, it stays there. if i push it down fast, it comes back up by itself..

HELP PLEASE lol

new master cylinder 2 weeks ago, dorman brand

You still have air in the system. Keep bleeding it

Did you take out the dampener loop? If you havent, look up how to eliminate it then bleed the line again.

My car used to be automatic, so there was never a dampener loop.

I read about this thing called "bench bleeding" it involves taking the master cylinder out, laying it so the output side is facing up, pushing the rod in and pouring fluid in (i use DOT3) , then slowly release the shaft and repeat this process so the reservoir starts to fill.

Will this process make a difference?

Yes, you need to take the master cylinder out of the car and bench bleed it properly. Very important step to eliminating all the air within the system.

Problem solved! Bench bleeding on a spare master cylinder I had worked. Tried it extensively on the one that was in question and it was just shot..

Piece of shit. It was Dorman brand too, must have been a bad one.
