over some time my car has began jerking harder upon letting off the gas then pressing it again. for instance, if im at any speed over about 50mph and i let my foot off the gas to slow down for some reason then press it again, there is a jerk. it feels like when someone is learning to drive stick for the first time and they get the 1st gear jerks

i tried searching for answers but all i get is stuff about nismo mounts making your engine sit higher. can you see the engine and tranny mountsd from under the car? if it is in fact the mounts, how easily are they replaced? seems like a "take out old put in new" type job but i remember they wanted like 500 bucks last time so ill try and do it myself this time if its feasible with normal hand tools. any ideas?

pretty easy to replace. Unbolt mounts, and whatever might be restricting you from lifting the engine up. Probably have to go through the entire engine removal process if you can't get the engine to move lift up high enough.

What I have noticed though from swapping SR motors is that the KA mounts sit the engines (SR, KA) lower, and SR mounts sit them higher. The NISMO mounts I believe are SR mounts.

I've also been told that the mounts in the Nissan truck (the one with the KA) sits the engines the lowest.

i read in one thread on here that they appear to sit the engine higher but it is due to the old ones sagging. if this is true then theres no problem. BUT if in fact they are higher, does that need correcting? maybe raise the hood? or is the height not really a problem?

nope, it's not that much of a problem. (hard to tell too) Only thing that I had a problem with was my strut bar hitting the black wire harness thing on top of the dohc KA. So I put in some washers, and voila!
