Im doin a timing chain replacement(sohc ka24e) and my question is when you replace the front cover, can you just run a bead of liquid gasket along the top of the exposed pan? Or do you have to remove the whole pan.Currently the pan has liquid gasket not a reg gasket.

i know i have to use liquid gasket. The FSM tells you to remove the oil pan, but its not necessary. My question is do i have to reseal the whole pan or can i just reseal the portion the timing cover covers. Please only respond if you have done this.

You can't take the pan out unless you lift the engine off the 'k' member/mounts...it takes a little longer than "a few extra minutes".
As for answering your question...not sure. My SOHC actually has an oil pan gasket.

You're only exposing on part of the pan correct?
In that case: just bead up whatever is exposed. Remove any existing seal and make sure you seal it up good, it shouldn't leak on you... It'll be fine.
