Okay, so some of you may have seen my cars for sale, etc. But i decided to make a build thread. so here goes. I've had quite a few cars, and i have been drifting for awhile. So for a little history first.

started in this Taylor @ CFRC in his Porsche 951 1-22-10 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BMoX04qpa0)

http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/179340_171740079537300_2246884_n.jpg

pretty much completely stock.

Ended up with this, swapped a rebuilt rb20 in it.

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/282592_10150243192961546_6860600_n.jpg

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/247227_530742992654_4058945_n.jpg

Got pit maneuvered by a girl who was texting on I-4, and they totalled it, and i finished it off a couple of events later and parted it out.

I bout this,
http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/185579_10150261340266546_514544_n.jpg

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc7/292205_10150261347386546_581036_n.jpg

Went through a few more cars after i sold that one, but nothing seemed to work well as drift car, and i just kept trading them off.

So i'll start with a the pre-build up before i decided to tear the car back apart.

I bought this 95 zenki about a year ago, with an rb25, way to big of journal bearing turbo, and coilovers.

How it sat when I got it.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zps7f6b3cc3.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zps961d90d6.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image6_zpsaa6fc26d.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image7_zps51eb4a9d.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zps01c12efa.jpeg

Attempted to do a drift even with the car like that, And even entering at 60+ i couldn't get the turbo to stay spoiled.

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/154406_10150672699326546_187810046_n.jpg

So Before doing another event, i ordered an ebay CX racing Gt30r BB, that didn't some in on time, so we decided to put a stock rb20 turbo on just to make the event, and hustled to gut the car, weld the cage in, and swap the whole turbo setup in one night.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zps68050aa8.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zpsdb3804c2.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zpsb0b195ca.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image13_zpsfd4751d0.jpeg

The cage was super ghetto, but it was the aftermath event at cfrc, and I really wanted to be able to tandem.

Ran no wastegate, and the event went alright after we fixed almost every single intercooler coupler. But the car was severely under-powered.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image7_zpsca7f640d.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image6_zps88b61833.jpeg

The turbo and extended tie-rods finally came in.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image9_zps63457ee8.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zps520f6a27.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zps1c663c2c.jpeg

Decided to get rid of the Cellulite looking quarter panel and bought soe over fenders.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zps2c3efe4f.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image5_zps556cae9c.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image7_zps124bf52d.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zpsd213f0d5.jpeg

Put the tie rods on, and rack bushing right before an event, last minute as usual.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image9_zpseffb709b.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image10_zps4ec0e3fe.jpeg

Went to PSI, and my buddy Andrew modded my knuckles.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zpsd798f00f.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image5_zpscd12584f.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zpsb0c323ac.jpeg

Put new wheel bearings in and rotors on while it was on the lift.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zps4ca6323b.jpeg

The car was so much more fun with the added angle.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image6_zps4251afd8.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image7_zps97dd314a.jpeg

Didn't do much to the car after that, just drove it, and had constant issues.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image10_zps9d6f7a94.jpeg

Broke my wastegate off, 3 runs into a comp

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image12_zpsa1cfc535.jpeg

and this is how the car stayed.

Last event the car actually ran well: CFRC Summer Slide Fest 2012 8-car Tandem Hot Lap Session - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9uBczjiu-c)

Then had transmission problems the next event, and had to get it towed home, this is when i decided to re-do the entire car.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image14_zps3380cedd.jpeg

I usually let things be ghetto, and just didn't care, as long as it drifted, nothing mattered. I got really tired of it, but fixing someone elses work just wasn't very rewarding. So I usually just left it. This time. I'm doing everything right, to the best of my ability.

I started by pulling the rb25 out. They're cool motors, but just not my thing anymore. Too much headache. i needed to put a ton of money into it to get it to where it needed to be, and i was just done with it. So I got rid of that, sold the old coilovers, scrapped the zenki front, cut the ghettoly done in one night cage out.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image8_zpsc96efd40.jpeg

So to start the build up.

The original plan was to go 5.3, planning on doing a turbo setup down the road. purely for reliability reason, not for cheater torque. I was shopping around and found something I've always wanted to do.

So i ditched the bandwagon v8 plan, and picked up this sr swap, I really love the way SR's make the car feel, since they sit so far back, and weigh nothing, the car is just so much more nimble than with a big inline 6 hanging over the front wheels.

Painting in my garage wasn't the best idea, but it needed to be done, this is my first time painting with a gun.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zpse3cb63fc.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zps45c210ad.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zpsce4f20f0.jpeg

motor went in pretty smoothly.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image10_zpsdb0eea0e.jpeg

Fenders are tacky, but they match the rears

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image5_zps6e79835d.jpeg

Wheels are gone now, car is on stock springs and struts until i decide on the new suspension

The whole front chassis harness was super hacked.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image6_zps0837f07b.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image7_zpsa66fa5d2.jpeg

Took my old hacked harness out. cleaned everything up a little bit.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image8_zpsb8dbf5ef.jpeg

put the new un-cut harness in, and relocated the engine bay harness.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zpsacd1924e.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zps2cc16f38.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zpscb286c81.jpeg

worked out some of the wiring.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zpsa98c6fb5.jpeg

re-soldered some connections/ checked the harness for any issues.

Got the motor started, runs like a champ, still have a lot to do. I will continue to update this as i go along.

Found this R35 that had a pretty siilar paintjob to my old coupe, just thought i would share. lol

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zps6a0006b7.jpeg

Back to the build.

Got The dash back in.

Relocated the engine bay block, and bolted it to the trans tunnel.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image11_zpse9f6d726.jpeg

Relocated the ECU to the glove boxs to keep it away from moisture, and leave it easily accessible for tuning.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image8_zps41a15b70.jpeg

Picked up some cheapo oil/temp gauges from work for the time being, re-using my old wideband and boost gauges. Also dug this Nakamichi headunit that came out of my old SR86 out of my parts pile.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image7_zpsfa5ff906.jpeg

My buddy Nick Johnson gave me some poly sway bar bushing since mine are dead. One less thing to buy.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image10_zps15fbe2b8.jpeg

Took advantage of the Half price day at The daytona LKQ and picked up a wingless trunk, and some altima fans.

I'm in the same boat, my friend Ryan usually convinces me to ride every now and then, but cars always come first now.

Good luck with the build Taylor, get lots of seat time this year!!

Thanks man! that's what i'm aiming for. I want to go to an event, and actually drive the whole event, and enjoy it. We'll see what happens. lol

what wheels are the newest ones? theyre sick af

They were some volk knockoff's i believe. Ended trading them to my girlfriend for here 17x9.5 +15 battles

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zps887aae66.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zps64353cd6.jpeg

They look better on her car, and i drive it as much as she does, and the wheel gap with the battles was just un-acceptable. :bigok:

So the main progress that's been made lately has been my garage. My dad is a horder, and i just got fed up with how much of a mess it was, so me and my friend spent about 12 hours, and clean the whole damn thing.

Before;

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zpsc00f8425.jpeg

After;

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zpse275bfa4.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image5_zps393ef251.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zps9d868e15.jpeg

So i worked on wiring up my headlights to the new engine bay harness.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image7_zps13828ae3.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zps3984b73e.jpeg

Found this bracket while cleaning the garage, along with some other sheetmetal that will be perfect for my gauge/switch panel. it had 4 holes drilled already that were exactly where i need them to be for my radiator brackets, so I enlarged 2 of them, and i just need to cut it to size.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image6_zps5ad20101.jpeg

not sure what i'm going to do here. Heat wrap and dot 5 fluid?

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zpsd56a304c.jpeg

traded my kouki over fenders for a radiator plus some cash. one less thing.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zps5ee0694f.jpeg

since my zenki fenders were beat to hell, i did a little experimentation with them to match the rears, and fit the wheels better.

Here's a video of it running on the base map, it's really strange, because i prime the pump with a toggle i have hooked to the stock trigger, and it will run for quite a while, after only priming, if i leave the pump on, it floods out really bad and barley wants to run. the video is it running absolutely horrible compared to normal, but you get the idea. It had a map on it when i got the motor that it was tuned to, but i can't seem to get it to start with that tune. also, after i blocked the IACV (which wasn't hooked up, and fixed my brake booster leak, it won't idle now. I'll be able to trouble shoot better once the intercooler is on, and i can actually drive the thing.

IMG 2522 - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb7mCredACE&feature=youtu.be)

I'll get a video with the piping on and see how it does then, and AEM wizzards on here?

The 1601 MAP base map is the only one it will start with.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image5_zps889d791b.jpeg

Had to take the intake manifold off to extract the broken brake booster fitting.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zpseec8149d.jpeg

While it was out, i decided to make a block off plate for the IACV because it's not used.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zps2a0effc9.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zps68153b5a.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zpsafd9f92e.jpeg

I don't have a vice so i had to use the grinder with one hand, and hold the plate down with another, so it did'nt come out perfect, but close enough.

saved the day and let my buddy borrow my battles until his ne wheels come in.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image5_zpse1e8ecea.jpeg

picked this up on sale.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image_zps9db9c42e.jpeg

Also picked up my next oil change, and an air filter, just need a 4" intake pipe, not sure where to find one just yet.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image2_zps6b2a878d.jpeg

Extended my harness, and got my headlights wire up.

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image3_zps53e4e87e.jpeg

http://i1281.photobucket.com/albums/a502/taylor_ray1/image4_zps59f25afc.jpeg

all that's left for the engine bay is intercooler piping.

It's a custom built manifold, really decent setup. thanks!

I heart S14's and yours is awesome.
if your going to do a Z trans swap, could I suggest maybe a Z33 trans instead ?just as tough, but better gearing for what your after

Thanks man! thats probably what i'm going to do actually, i'll probably blow up a few Sr transmissions before i give in. lmfao

great build so far keep up the good work ill be following you. just wondering, where did you find the pic of that r35? ive been thinking about doing a paint job similar to yours/his. same color scheme but it would look more like his sort of like a camo. thought i was gonna be the only one to do it but you guys beat me haha

Haha, a friend of mine posted it on my facebook. I've actually seen another 240, just like mine was but hatch, still pretty original though.
