My SR is no showing any oil pressure at all. Have a gauge hooked up to the sender port on the oil filter block, when cranking it doesnt even move. My pump is original and I had my motor apart to put a new head gasket and studs on because I rear ended someone n my chain broke and my pump looked fine when i put it back together. Should have replaced it I know but My budget was tight. I tried priming the pump with petroleom grease and still no pressure. Is it only my pump? or should i look some where else? Thanks in advance guys

you usually have to prime for a long time for an external gauge to register, for the stock oil pressure switch, not as much maybe 10 rotations and the lights out.

have you tried starting it, and seeing if pressure shoots up to 90psi+?
I mean if at start up you have no pressure then, shut it down though!
Have you check the sender or gauge for clogs?

I have not tried starting it. Very scared to ruin my baby lol should I try starting it? Ill keep trying to prime it first by cranking with no plugs and no fuel pump fuse but would starting it hurt it? im on a budget and cant afford to ruin my engine. She made stupid power before 260whp n 275whtq on a t25!!! so i know i have a good one.

At start up, you should immediately have 90psi, so if it starts and oil pressure is zero shut it down. Even if you have 90psi and shut it down, you'll probably notice with an electronic gauge it would read zero, with koeo. Do a startup, which shouldn't hurt, it would be like starting your car any other time. just make sure you have pressure before you let it run.

change your filter. I have seen numerous SR's with no oil pressure problems and turned out to be a faulty filter. try that. on really stubborn motors i have had to drop the lower pan/pick up tube and pump gear oil up into the pump in the pickup tube hole then the pump would prime and build pressure.

Also, take your spark plugs out when you crank it. This will let it crank faster therefore prime faster.

Just to cover bare minimum basics, there is oil in the engine correct?

Have you verified your external gauge is functioning properly?

How long has the block been sitting? If you haven't disassembled the lower end there should still be sufficient oil on the bearings for a smooth startup.

There is oil yes. I have not disassembled the bottom end so it should be fine. I will try starting it and see what happens on the gauge. Is gear oil ok to mix into your oil like that? I was using pet. jelly and it didnt see anything but I will try some 75-90w if everyone thinks that is ok to use.

I wouldnt use anything thicker than 20-50w. My guess is it just hasnt built up pressure. I had to fire up my RB25 to get oil pressure after swapping out an N1 pump. I tried to just crank it to prime but disconnecting the CAS, didnt build up. So I just plugged it in, started it and starred at my oil pressure gauge to jump.

It's pretty common on srs for the oil pick up to break. Usually a pot hole or a small bump will do it. Happened to Parto. Lmk how it goes guys

We got it started. Oil pressure shot up as soon as it started. Thanks for the help guys.
