View Full Version : Permatex vs JB Weld to slow/stop trans leak?

What would work better to slow or maybe even stop an auto trans leak where two casings meet? It's not intended to be a permanent fix, it's merely meant to slow down the leak (about 1 quart per week) until I can pick a tranny from the junkyard and install it in my father's car. It's a 2000 Mazda 626 if that matters to anyone. Any feed back is appreciated

You dont use jbweld for making seals so use permatex. I prefer the gray color one

Autozone was out of the grey one so I picked up the Permatex Ultra Blue. It seems to have slowed the leak down quite a bit so far. Thanks for the input! Mods may close
