Hey, im about to put a GT2871r on my s13 Sr20 red top. im Curious what oil restrictor i should use, and if so what lines would be the best to run for it. Also i will be going topmount so im curious as to what i would do for my oil drain seeing as it will be to short? Finally when i bought the turbo it didnt have the Waste gate actuator arm, I bought the turbo of a buddy he said you can purchase it from FRSport i checked they have it, BUT im confused as to how you set it up? Just thread on the lock nut throw the arm on done or is there a way to set it up so its like it came from the factory?
1mm restrictor. actuator you can buy separately. you can make your own custom steel braided lines. oil drain line too short, custom make a longer one.

Do you know a material that is heat resistant to make a oil drain out of?

To my knowledge the drained oil shouldn't be that hot.. IIRC I'm using some random ass hose I found in my garage and it's holding up swell on my l28et :)

i have DIF lines and .030 restrictor on my 2871R. You can get parts for a custom oil drain at atpturbo.com, i would use a different drain tube and 5/8 silicone hose they have, heater hose will degrade with exposure to oil and catch can hose is not very heat resistant. As for setting the internal wastgate, start by preloading the arm about 1/8 inch short of reaching the wg valve. see how much boost you get and how it builds boost. adjust a couple turns at a time. the more preload you have, the better it will build boost but can start to spike if you have it set too much.

Okay i was looking at my wastegate actuator and i looked at the spot were it threads on and it appears that it snapped off.... i only have like half inch of threads which to me doesnt seem like much..

do not buy the GT BB oil restrictor from ATP. an old garrett gt3076 and my friends garrett 2871r brand new both seized after 300km from oil starvation, we sent them back to garrett with the restrictors and they said the they would not honor warranty from this. and yes obivously they were the wrong size, but this was purchased from their menu of GT BB install for t28/30 -4an IIRC

what's the proper oil restriction?
flooding the turbo with too much oil is just as bad to, no?

I took another peak at the turbo and it has a restrictor on it from my buddy. He used the Circut sports lines had no problems, he was running it on a Built CA19DET so i assume the restrictor that is on it is fine. WOO one problem out of the way lol

Im not completely sure as I called full-race about the issue and they sent me one of theirs overnight
GT BB Turbo Oil Feed/Inlet Fitting - Full-Race.com (http://www.full-race.com/store/accessories/fittings-and-lines/gt-bb-turbo-oil-feed-inlet-fitting.html)
full-race used to sell the .035 it looks like, and then in the description of the other restrictor it says " we now offer the correct fitting" etc etc. and the new size is .060
as far as I know, too much oil will blow out the seals, but if you are using the oem banjo fitting on the block it has a built in restrictor that helps with too much oil getting through. Our ATP BB install restrictors reduced flow so much, out bearings were seized by "coked" oil. This happens when oil gets way way too hot (oil starvation) and turns solid, stopping the chra from rotating at all.
