curious as to how its sleeved? and double block guarded? which sleeves are you running?

slowboy
01-12-2013, 06:42 PM
its the equivalent as closed deck block, it has darton sleeves and eagle block guard. in my case i went ahead and went double block guard just for the extra added protection. the purpose for this is so the sleeves wont expand. it is very possible to do this. but the process requires machining. in case you didn't know. the block guard fills the the gap between the sleeves and the space where coolant runs while still retaining coolant flow. the N/A honda guys to this all the time.

none at all bro. the car actually runs very cool and temp needle never even rises to the halfway mark. it has the newer style block guard with the larger passages.

thank you bro, nice to see someone who can appreciate and realize that observation, specially when it has 55,xxx original miles. when factoring in the cost of the b18c, the turbo, engine management, tune, internals, machine work, head work, fuel system, electricals... i have close to $8500 in parts and labor in the motor alone.

the only disaster is in your assumption, if your mechanical abilities entails a manifold upgrade with the cleanliness of whatever your standard may be, than be it. my engine bay does NOT currently look like this and you clearly fail to understand the concept of the pictures, which is to depict the unbolted turbo (twin scroll, anti-surge, vband, flange adapter etc)

furthermore, i suggest you step your turbo game up if you think this is a ford turbine :naw: and lastly, if you must shit...go shit your pants, not my thread.

thank you :sadwavey:

Your right I should step my game up and downgrade to a bootleg gt35 from a gt42....my assumption is based on what my eyes see I build Hondas everyday and I wouldn't let one leave with a engine bay looking like that

Oh and which is it darton sleeved or does it have a block guard?

perhaps i am right, because i see no validity in your point regarding a "bootleg" gt35 when in fact it is a genuine garrett unit :picardfp: ignorance is bliss since what your eyes fail to see is that these pics where taken during a manifold installation, so if "your" standard in not in accordance to how a motor is supposed to look during an installation...as is said before, :wtf:

it is sleeved and guarded, you build hondas all the time, I BUILD CARS ALL THE TIME. check here (post #5) sleeves and block guard? - Honda-Tech (http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2815795)

as you can see by the post on this thread, there's not one single comment besides yours speaking on the cleanliness of my car. The lack of knowledge to a situation...Usually once the whole truth is revealed you realize you were happier being clueless. ignorance is bliss.

btw i appreciate the bumps

Building cars is my job...as I have my own legit shop and 100s of regular customers.... Post clear pics of the bay and of the compressor side of the turbo

rb27dets14
06-08-2013, 08:10 AM
And my bad just because I have seen the turbo on several cars that came thru the shop its very similar to powerstroke turbo ,but it's not a powerstroke (I was talking. 95-97 with t4 flange) it's off an Isuzu frr box truck early 2000s....

It's still a truck turbo but yes more bay pics would be nics

ok...and wtf are you implying by "still" a truck turbo?? my post wasn't in any form directed to you. quit cock riding my thread dude, you used a "truck" manifold on your kouki build correct? am i whoring your thread?

bro, no one is saying otherwise, it is a diesel turbo, a quality turbo is a reputable turbo, so whats your issue with mine??? i put the clear details and specifics on my thread. anyone who knows anything related to turbos would know what it it, and this one makes a good amount of power. big HP dsm guys swear by garrett and holset diesel turbos, but i bet since you build cars you already know this right??...if you're here to satisfy your need to criticize, step off my thread guy because its apparent thats why you're here. if you're serious than i apologize but your demeanor needs adjustments bro...pm me your number if you're serious and we'll proceed from there otherwise fall back

thank you, i wasn't a fan of them either, but they sure do have potential. took her on a 6 hour road trip to lowell, mass on sunday and back and never skipped a beat. managed to reach speeds of over 165+ on i-91 around 4am on a 2 mile stretch of road, rpms were at 6400 (redline is 9200). needle was centered between 0 and 140 (cluster limit) pushed her a bit more to lean the needle slightly left. the car's top end, and how fast it develops speed up top is insane, until then i've only ran her to 140.
