Sr20det Tranny Problem?

I have a 1995 240sx with s13 black top Sr, I had been driving it around for a while tonight but on the way home I pulled up to a stop sign and I couldn't put it in first or second gear. So I took off in third and babied it home. I noticed when I got home even with the car off it still wont go in first, second, or reverse. its like some thing is stopping it from going, there is no grinding noise when trying to force it in gear. I took shifter out and looked down in tranny and everything looked ok I just dont know it did it randomly.

Tranny could be done...is your engagement point low as shit?

it is for the 1st and 2nd gear

my car did this to me out of the blue one day too. it's never done it to me again though. im curious to hear an answer on this as well.

You can start by changing the fluid, get some AMSOIL. If that doesnt fix it, and your engagement point is right, then I'd say the tranny is done.

Could it be that the clutch disc is so bad that it is not disengaging ?

could be that your slave cylinder also isn't disengaging your clutch fully
