If you don't have someone to show you how it's done while doing it, just pay someone to do it. For my car, it was the only thing I let someone else install and i've done a good amount of shit to my car.

well, heavy throttle says they can do it but charge 65 an hour, probably would be best to do

taking off the pumpkin is pretty straightfoward...i'd suggest you do that first if u wanna save money then bring the pumpkin and LSD unit to a shop..
but the LSD install is not too difficult...just takes muscle and an impact gun would help...you might need a sledgehammer and crowbar to break open the diff casing....the open diff will take some muscle to take out...but the new LSD should drop right in....pretty straightfoward

Jesus, my diff wasn't that hard to open. I just tapped it with a rubber mallet and the cover came right off after I removed the bolts. I then used two bars to pry the open diff out. The install is pretty straight forward and takes less than 20 minutes. Just make sure the backlash is in spec. But it should be ok using the stock races.

Only things needed will be the FSM, a table vice, torque wrench, threadlock, 17mm, and 14mm sockets once you have the pumpkin out. Its fairly straightforward. Refer to the FSM for the tq. specs etc. I installed my own Tomei diff, 4.636 FD, and the oh so lovely Greddy diff cover =] Expect the job to take upwards of 5 hours from start to finish.
