Hey guys,
The time has come to look at upgrade options for my SR as far as a turbo goes. I'm not going to splurge on a super nice turbo rite away since I'm also building a 6.0 LSX so I figured I'll just give my self a cheap upgrade and see how long it lasts lol. I really want to go top mount just for ease of maintenance, and the fact that I like how top mount looks. A few options I've looked at are the T3/T4 setup from godspeed. I'm kinda on the fence about this one. As with most chep-o brands, you hear good and bad stuff about them, my main concern lies in the cast manifold and the (I'm sure its a junk ass external waste gate). I'd really like to stay tubular, but I guess, it is what it is. The other option is the bottom mounted 18g from them as well. Obviously this is not as attractive to me due to wanting top mount, but I've heard alot of good things about the 18g's. And thirdly my other option was from CXRacing. They have a good looking T04E top mount with tubular mani and all the usual suspects. The down side here is its about double the price of the Godspeed kit. I plan on picking up AEM V2 also about the same time I get the turbo setup so I'll have proper tuning options. I guess my question off hand is what do you guys think given my current mod list would be the best bang for the buck (No cheap turbo pun intended lol) that would keep things spooling at a reasonable RPM yet make decent power(300wheel atleast) on reasonable psi levels.
What I have atm is as follows:
Stock bottom end.
Crower valves and springs with Stage 2 crower cams
Stock MAF
Walbro 255
550cc's
Front mount
Apexi catback
leaky downpipe which I'll replace when the turbo kits ordered as well as the 02 housing.
This isnt everything but its just a rough idea so you guys have something to run off. Really appreciate your input. :hsdance:
