maybe a stupid question but what's the easiest way to swap the transmission in a 240, i've never done this before but i have pretty much an enitre workshop full of tools & a lift at my disposal. do i need to pull the engine with the transmission attatched or can i just drop it without pulling the engine? anything special i have to watch out for? it's a 5spd stock ka24e if it makes a difference.

READ THIS BEFORE
Disconnect battery
Raise the car
Drain oil
Remove gearstick completly
Remove driveshaft (from the diff, center bearing etc)
Remove tranny cross member
remove starter
remove all the bolts around tranny
pull tranny slightly toward the back (couple of inches)
turn the tranny so that the starter hump is pointing down (slightly down)
Be ready
Pull back the tranny completly
In my case, was easier to remove the exhaust support bracket from the cat converter
Its easier with a buddy when removing the tranny, keep the tailshaft up, dont let the tranny rest on the input shaft on removal and on install.
First time I did this, took me 4 hours ALONE, now I am confident that will take me 1.5 hours tops! without any lift
Any questions LMK
