Is your car a complete shitpile?
If yes: no, your car will not handle it.
If no: yes, your car can handle it.

my 93 coupe with 120k miles on it has been to LA and back to the bay area 3 times.
It has also gone to portland oregon and back to the bay area 2 times. It is about 650 miles from bay area to oregon (one way).
Had no problems at all.
And every trip above I did it non-stop only to re-fuel, GT2 endurance races has trained me well. =D

ive done 2 1000+ mile round trips in my 96, no problems whatsoever.
Well Ive got 920+ after I got my 240, went from Euporia Ks., to Colorado Springs. I had to do the trip in one day got expired tags and the police give me a warning right after I did a burn out and spun out in the middle of town.

Eh, weaksauce...all of you. I bought my car in Las Vegas. I drove through 4 National Parks on my way home to good ol' Litchfield, IL and racked up over 3,000 miles. From Moab, UT I drove 26 hour back home with only 3 hours of total napping time during that leg of the trip.

KA is strong like bull.
2 cross country trips within 4 months of each other. Coast to coast.
San Diego, CA to Havelock, NC and back. Over 3k miles each time.
NO problems.
My KA rocks your socks, as it got a best of 31mpg avg per tank. worst was 26mpg. Mods? who needs them? I had stock intake and N1 Duals.

i had a 91 civic si hatchback with 180k on it. no mods or anything. Drove to San Diego from San Francisco and back in 2 day period. It did fine, was a bit scary, but I had to take a chance. I was driving the San Diego to get my 90 240sx Hatch for $1500, which included FandR Brembo x-drilled and slotted rotors, Axxis brake pads, stainless steel brake line, and high performance brake fluid. Great condition car. Was worth the drive.

man this was a dumb post. lets see.. trips KA powered... nc to tenn and played on deals gap, NC to Atlanta for Road atlanta track day, nc to atl for nopi, NC to New orleans for mardi gras. trips SR powered, drove it from NC to Atlanta as soon as the clutch was broke in. (had it running monday left Friday) back to atlanta for nopi, and whatever else, then I took a SE tour... went from NC to New orleans up through tenn to kansas city MO and back to NC. why in gods name would you think taking your car out of town is going to break it?

Long distance highway cruising is the best kind of driving you can do in a car. They love that shit. It's happy time for the car. :) Your car has a higher chance of breaking down while driving around town than just sitting at between 55-90mph cruising on a highway.

Let's see, just 2 weeks ago I drove from Fayetteville to Little Rock to Memphis and then back to Little Rock and then back to Fayetteville. Thats about 900 miles altogether.
And then probably in two weeks I'll put another 700 miles on it to visit the folks for Easter.
And then probably another 800 or so miles back out to Memphis (not stopping in Little Rock) in a month or so.

wow, cool, thanx for reply guys, now i feel more confident driving to san francisco. My car isnt complete shitpile btw,i take good care of it.
And ,Steelies, about your question, what gave me an idea that my car is gonna break down on me on a road trip.It actually happened to me,I blew the engine on my 91 acura integra, right in the middle of the way to vegas.........
But i know , it was integra, and it had somewhere around 180k+ miles on it,and i didnt take very good care of it.........But anyways, after that trip,i feel little bit paranoid........................

second well... you answered your own question. you take care of the 240... you didnt take care of the acura.

I drove my freshly swapped SR to from SoCal to Vegas to compete in a 2 day bracket competition and just a general weekend of partying and then back without a hitch. Good thing I got phase2 to look it over after they did the wiring to make sure everything was good to go. It had only been running for like 2 weeks when I drove out there.

i forgot who did it, but someone here had a post called "stock SR radiators don't overheat" or something like that cuz he drove from portland, oregon to socal and back cuz he went to some car shop i think or something like that. and it didn't overheat or have any problems. sorry for the undescriptive details. haha.

HA mine went to atlanta the weekend after i got swap by PURE AMATUERS!! first swap ever done. 1 1/2 years later the first and only problem out of it is a wireing issue which I had done by a shop! whos sig says "remeber amatuers built the arc, professionals built the titanic" definatly true in my ccase!
