my car would not start one day and the battery voltage was low.....so i took it and the alternator to autozone becouse i had the battery in the car for a while . i had to tell them wat car it came off of so i said a sentra with a 2.0. they tested the alternator and said it was bad couse it was at 10 volts and should be at 13-16 volts they tested the battery and it was dead to. so i bot i battery and the car is fine now after a long ass ARIZONA drive and 2 weeks of daily drivin..... was the guy right at autozone about my alternator being bad??

mmmmmmm has anyone ever bench tested there alternator???

with the car running, take a voltmeter and put the leads on the pos and neg of your battery. See what the reading is. Should be 13-14 V, if it is your alt is fine. If its in the 11's or 12's your alt is bad. Have rebuilt.
